Support Oculus Go!

Hello, I was curious as to whether you could support the Oculus Go? I believe the client is available for gear vr, however does not appear for the Go in the App Store. Is it possible for you to support the Oculus Go? Thanks!

Our app was tested by Oculus, and has the "Go" support button checked in the App Store (also done by Oculus).

I honestly have no idea why it doesn't show up? It may be that Oculus is only showing their native-Go apps initially, and then GearVR titles later?

We are also looking at natively supporting the Go (higher refresh rate and other features).

Ok, Thanks for the reply! I started playing on PC today and I really like the flight model. Looking forward to trying it on the Go (soon hopefully). Also excited about the Go's native enhancements.

The best-case scenario will likely be a Go with a full-sized bluetooth gamepad, like a Steel Series XL or a Moga Pro (or Razer, or Nyko).

The default little hand-controller things that come with these devices are minimally okay, but don't lend themselves to nearly as good of an experience. We have to use a very different (inferior) flight/cockpit model, when there isn't a gamepad, due to the lack of sufficient buttons/sticks.

The xbox one controller seamlessly works with the Go, so all I need now is the Vendetta client!

I'm getting an Oculus Go and I searched for a (Gear VR) game which I can sink endless of hours in to. I'm not interested in arcade games, short games and VR-experiences. It led me to this E.D.-ish game and it made me sooo happy to find this particular thread, confirming support and upcoming optimization for the Go. Thank you, vendevs! Can't wait to try both the Go and Vendetta Online for the very first time.

A month have passed so I'm curious what's up. Any news or answer from Oculus why the game isn't showing in their store?
I got the Go and a gamepad ready for space travel.

The entire process of supporting and/or launching on the "Go" has been rather awkward. Without going into too much detail.. we received a devkit quite late (a couple of weeks before launch, as it turned out), with no information on when the device would actually launch ("soon"), and had to work around a backwards-compatibility problem.

This is why the GearVR version is not available on the "Go". Oculus requires all apps to pass certain tests, like going to the "Oculus Home" and then returning to the app. VO passes all of these tests and works great on the GearVR, but not on the "Go": it will not resume after going to the Oculus Home. This is because of API changes on the Go, that were apparently not backwards compatible.

I didn't realize this back on May 3rd, when I initially responded. We've had to figure a lot of this out on the fly, and we didn't have a lot of time to put into this (it was un-scheduled, we didn't get a devkit until very late, we had other contractual priorities, and I had no idea if the Go was launching in May or June or what).

To try and work around the issues, we've had to just completely update the game for all the latest Oculus APIs and hope that would fix things. The "Go" API has a lot of changes. In fact, it's actually quite different from the old GearVR API, and required some renderer-level modification. It also supports new things like a higher-resolution render target, higher maximum refresh rate (72hz) and other features like Fixed Foveated Rendering.

Basically, we've been trying to roll a new version for the Go (and updated versions for all GearVR) that makes the best possible usage of all the new features. I'm hoping this will be out quite soon (maybe in the next week?), but there are still other variables and factors, like Oculus's own approval of our updated app, and so on.
