FFSA/FCP dropped by every "Unrat" Trident

Every "Unrat" Trident should have one Fused Composite Plating or Fluid Formable Silksteel Alloy in its cargo. I have killed at least 30 of these dents and haven't seen a single trident component drop. Rather than a % chance of a drop I think that a minor part like FFSA or FCP should drop every time, perhaps with a small chance of it being a higher-tier part.

With their respawn rate as it is, and the difficulty of destroing the dent as it is, it seems like having one drop every time would be a realistic reward.

1.5% of the time drop FCP
1.5% of the time drop FFSA
.5% of the time drop a RBH
3.0% of the time drop 3x MCA

Blaqk is that a suggestion? or is that the current drop rate?

A suggestion

It is a thing that takes some level of skill and experience to accomplish.
The cool down timer puts an automatic rarity to it anyway, only a few a day.
Manufacturing fcp or ffsa isn't all that hard to begin with so may as well let it drop them with a RBH as a next tier rare drop

@Blaqk: Then make your own suggestion thread. My suggestion stands that EVERY one drops an FCP or FFSA. I don't think killing ten of those things is worth one low-tier capship part. As Rolflor noted - "the respawn rate puts an automatic rarity to it anyway".

I like the idea that a very small percentage of the time parts like RBH or Cybernetic Arrays drop.

So, there has always been a small chance of higher-end drops, currently a Reinforced Bulkhead and an Engine Pylon Assembly respectively. They're pretty rare.

I have increased the probability of FCP from 1 in 20 to 1/2 (50%) and FFSA from 1 in 40 to 1/4 (25%). So, you should see them dropping more often, once this commit goes into production (probably Friday, watch for the update MOTD).

I'm not making it 100% at the present time. Yes, one can say "hey, the current respawn time is a brake" and so on and so forth.. but I'm nowhere near done tinkering with spawn rates and other factors on the pirate ships in general (and I don't mean "done" in a "soon" kind of way.. I mean I'm still fiddling with things in the short term), and while that's in flux, I'm not making any guaranteed high-value drops.

Still, for now, this should be an improvement.

Cool thanks ;)

I read the update and I appreciate your attention regarding this matter, Incarnate.

HOWEVER

The drop rate hasn't changed. I have still not seen any drops whatsoever. I have killed SEVEN Unrat Dents since the "change" and not a single capship part has dropped. If anyone has had a different experience, please share.

Likewise.

They have become harder to follow, buuuut...all of the cargospace I have labeled "unrat capship parts" is beginning to overflow with flowers. The alcohol has been much appreciated, almost as much so as the overabundance of flora has been confusing. I wish you much luck with your continued work on your flower-pirats.

Update: We may have been complaining too much...I just got and 1 FCP, 1 FFSA, and 4 SSS off of a single dent.

Ray has confirmed that my changes are in production. That said, you can still have a run of bad luck.

Alright I'll keep at it. Must have been an anomaly

Okay either I have the worst luck in the game, or there is something wrong with your update.

I'm not being overly dramatic... I have killed 12 unrat dents and haven't seen a single capship part.

Are you SURE the change was implemented? if so, I am a statistical anomaly.

I think you need to kill 100 more dents to make sure
