Turbo as a Weapon.

It struck me yesterday that turbo as a weapon would be really cool. I mean, it's a giant blast of engine, but it doesn't do any damage? I say that the visual effect should get bigger, and do, say, 1500 dmg/second for a region 1-150m behind you and 50m across. Any takers?

Good idea, ramming should be an option if/when we get big capital ships with target-able weapons. Did that frigate knock out your laser batteries and is getting in close for the kill? Ram him!

Sounds a bit like the bbq thingy, but without the fire-part.

I'm just annoyed because I was trading and had SF1 about 20m behind me in his valk before he let loose with the gausses. If turbo as a weapon was there, and increased with ship size, he would have been fried by my exhaust and I likely wouldn't have been pirated by a group of 4 reds over and over.

Stupid rocket-valk jock!
:)

Whent he frigate becomes moveable correctly and has engine glows, there had better be this feature, i'd hate to see people fly into the engines of the frigate. o.O

Forget the frigate, I just want it on my Atlas!!!

I'm thinking have the extended flame binded so it wasn't always on, and have it drain 1/2 as much as turbo, so it would be turbo energy cost + flame cost

Boost bomb! Prepare to eat flaming entrails. :D

I think instead of a turbo-flame it would be better to just have an explosive boost. Something like the size of 4 or 5 sunflares goes off behind you and you're sent to gut-wrenching speeds, but reduced dramatically in health. In a cap ship the explosion would be dramatically bigger though. Like an avalon.

A sunflare when heated up by deadly flames will most likely explode before it even reaches the engines, there would have to be a special type of rocket that is designed to move fast, be armored, and carry enough payload to make the engines angry.
