Lemming's ideas re-posted.

Welcome to Lemming's ideas re-posted! These are ideas still circulating in my brainular area that have been lost in the tides of time. That and the CHUDs.

1 -- Acceleration of missile weapons.

When you have a physical object several things apply to it, first the property of inertia.
Right now when you launch a sunflare, it goes at your ship speed plus that of the missile's speed, when launched it should gradually get the speed of the projectile added to it, so if you are traveling at 10 m/s it will start out at 10 m/s and (assuming the missile's speed rating is 45 m/s) reach a max speed of 55 m/s over a period of time.
Next is the general properties applied to our ships, when we turbo our ships can reach 200 m/s but immediately go back down to 60 m/s when we run out of energy. Right now our missiles do not decelerate, as soon as a missile runs out of energy it should come to a dead stop quickly, but lets assume our missiles will have "smart 'turbo-ing'", the fuel consumption will gradually decrease to keep the missile going.

2 -- Fuel based weapons:

Now, essentially a rocket is two compustable substances, one being gradually spent and one in reserve to be spent very quickly. My idea of a new weapon would be essentially half of the rocket, the one being gradually used. This type of rocket would just be (essentially) a fuel tank, the fuel will be used up while moving, as the fuel is used up the destructiveness of the missile will go down, if the fuel is almost empty, it will do little damage, if it was just launched it will do tons of damage.

3 -- Direction of explosions:

Okay, in a bomb the explosion will be spherical, but in a rocket there is already something combusting. If you take a balloon and inflate it it should be normal looking, if you thin a part of the balloon that side will inflate quicker and pop sooner. A Bomb is the balloon, a rocket is the balloon with a thinned side. When a rocket explodes the explosion will go behind it more than in front of it:
-----------(rocket)--(engine)--------------
------(((---(rocket)--(engine)--------------)))
(((/))) = area of blast.

4 -- Physics of Guided Missiles:

Currently guided missiles are using 'arcade' mode and are incredibly stupid, they will stay at full speed constantly, essentially dodge a guided missile and it will either time out before it comes back or be easy to avoid if you move forward a bit. This is because the missiles when going at full speed will only turn so quickly, making a perfect circle while turning to go back to its target. The missiles should turn faster, slow down while doing so, then head back to their target, this will eliminate them going in a circle and they will act more like a fighter does (fighters don't just keep going at full speed when they turn).

And yah, that's it.

good ideas on the guided missiles. I mean i tried to use geminis on bots once, and they missed the bot by like 100m and when they come back it like missed again then timed out.

Not my idea of being guided missiles, its like a missing missile.
