Turret Change
I think this has been suggested already but they forgot to make a compromise. All NPC cap ships can fire their guns all at once and with perfect aim, players can only achieve this with gunners, and this leads to people putting bots in there because it's hard to find any gunners at all. So basically I want the ability to set all turrets to weapon groups and shoot at the target with the right lead off, if in range of the turret's field of view. And now to balance it: Turn turrets into what they are supposed to be, they should have the ammo the description says and use the energy that is also listed for every energy turret. The energy would come from the main cell and wouldn't be a separate unit.

This would finally change the meta a bit and we will see more than cap swarm golis and dents all the time and it would prevent camping in sectors like Sedina B-8 with said cap swarms. At the same time it would open up more freedom of movement and more interesting cap ship fights with weapons like gauss cannons or even other small turrets, like the gat turret.
This has been suggested many times in the past, a couple of times by me. INC had previously mentioned a tactical mode that pilots could enter to fire turrets at targets. It was an idea he presented as a solution, whether it is actually being developed or would apply to non capitol ships I have no idea.

It's not a nerf, it's a fix. It says xxx ammo but doesn't have said ammo count and same for the energy. I would love to be able to shoot all weapons at once in the normal flying mode but that would be OP with infinite ammo/energy. And it would also force cap owners to use other Turrets besides these boring cap swarms. Maybe we even get new cap energy turrets in the near future.
This could actually remove the need to nerf any capships. It doesn't make sense that all capships have infinite turret ammo and use no energy.
Maybe turrets should have ammo based on the capital ship? Maybe a goliath could carry 2/3 or half the ammo that a trident can carry?

The energy aspect of the turrets i agree with - they shouldnt be drawing magically on an infinite energy supply. But the ammo thing? Cappies are meant to be a mobile base - they reload other ships for free. And, if you sit in a capital swarm turret and fire, it will run out of ammo after firing 120 missiles - as advertised - and then reloads when you exit. Seems sensible to me.
Capships were also meant to be multiplayer....

That is the opposite of sensible, Nyscersul. I don't have a problem with the idea of infinite ammo turrets, but the current implementation is pretty silly.
As for the idea that capships are mobile bases, that is completely orthogonal to whether turret ammo is infinite. Capships could be allowed to reload ammo from cargo, for example, or they could be given manufacturing equipment so that they can produce ammo from raw materials. Or they could just have a really large ammo capacity.
