Oh shit I wrote a whole long essay and lost it... I'll write the suggestion again soon

The Corvus Fly (Extra Light Racer Class)

I have posted this in another suggestion as the Corvus Hummingbird, but then I decided that I would rather write a whole series of Hive bot ship suggestions, with the names based on one theme. I chose insects.

Stats:
Armour:1500
Mass:1000kg
Cargo:1 cu
Volume as Cargo:50cu
Weapons: 1 small, although none is good too
Max Turbo Speed:270 m/s
Turbo Energy: 48/s

I don't know much about the other stats. The ship is based on the Observer, so please fill it with this in mind. It should have excellent acceleration and manueverability.

License:10/10/2/0/0

The Corvus Flea (Light Fighter Class)

Stats:
Armour:7000
Mass:4000kg
Cargo:5 cu
Volume as Cargo:150cu
Weapons: 2 small with in built addon scanner
Max Turbo Speed:220 m/s
Turbo Energy: 55/s

Same about other stats as in the Fly. This is based on the Milanar Assault, which afaik is similar to the Valent A47, although I may be wrong. It should have pretty good acceleration and manueverability.

License: 12/11/7/3/0

The Corvus Scorpius (Light Assault Class)

Stats:
Armour:25000
Mass:25000kg
Cargo:15 cu
Volume as Cargo:300cu
Weapons: 1 large and 1 small with inbuilt addon and cargo scanner.
Max Turbo Speed:190 m/s
Turbo Energy: 60/s

Again, I have to rely on others for the other stats (this is getting annoying). It's based on the Orne Guardian, but a slightly lighter and significantly lower armoured version of it. But same shape and size. Acceleration would be pretty bad, as would manueverability, but don't turn it into a Moth please. Maybe like a Hornet.

The Corvus Crab (Heavy Assault Class)

Stats:
Armour:50000
Mass:40000kg
Cargo:25 cu
Volume as Cargo: 500cu (this stat doesn't matter much by this point)
Weapons: 2 small and 2 large
Max Turbo Speed: 180 m/s
Turbo Energy: 55/s

You get the drill. This one is based on a scaled down version of the Helman K-27 Overseer. Moth like powerful thrust will be needed, and manueverability will be like a Ragnarok Mklll

License:15/15/15/7/5

The Corvus Tick (Heavy Armed Transport)

Stats:
Armour:25000
Mass:80000kg
Cargo:150 cu?
Volume as Cargo: Won't even bother
Weapons: 2 large
Max Turbo Speed: 180 m/s
Turbo Energy: 50/s

This one is based on the Milanar Transport. It is a more everything alternative to the Moth. Higher thrust. Higher Spin Torque and all the other stats.

All these ships will be manufactured at Corvus stations. They need Pillar of Society standing with Corvus. The licence levels mentioned are also a prerequisite. These are very very OP ships, and my only justification for this is their high license requirements and the fact that they are manufactured. I will write another post on this same thread about proposals for the parts.

Now for my last.....drumrolls

The Corvus Arachna (Capital Class)

Stats (Imma go crazy here):
Armour: 300000
Shields:50000?
Mass: I have no idea
Cargo:50 cu (it's a combat cappie)
Volume as Cargo: Why is this stat even there?
Weapons: 1 small, 1 large and 3 turrets
Max Turbo Speed: 180 m/s

This baby's based upon, you guessed it, the Hive Queen. It's not much use as a hauler cappie, and can't hold any ship inside except the proposed Fly. I have no idea as to the thrust, power cell capacity, turbo energy, anything of a cappie. Just make it manueverable, like the queen. And grid power equivalent to the requirement for a Hive Queen Mining Beam.

This ship also has a couple of "superpowers". When it enters a sector with no queen or Leviathan, it reduces the aggression of the other bots in the sector to 0, as long as it doesn't attack them. So mining in a sector with Hive bots is possible as long as you don't hit them. Once you do, the ALA is reset to what is normal for a cappi like a goli or a dent.
It also has a transponder with a limited bandwidth (50?) that allows it to control Hive bots. 1 transport uses 1 bandwidth unit, transports 2, guardians 5, assaults 10 and overseers 25. Once the Arachna has taken control of said bots, she can tell them to do basic activities such as mining, transporting and dumping cargo to a particular destination, protecting her specifically like an escort, attacking particular players or ships or just following. She cannot however stop the bots from attacking other players or NPCs. And this ability does uses grid power. It should be such that a fully occupied bandwidth uses up 90% of grid power.
A third ability is the ability to produce Synthetic Silksteel. Since the Queen is the creator of the bots, it is only natural she can produce it. So one unit of every single ore plus 5 Silksteel will be required. Th Arachna must launch, with these parts in the hold and no add-ons, as the process consumes all her grid power. Her power cell too remains drained. So no turboing and no attacking. The process takes maybe 15s and you have 1 SSS. Rinse and repeat.

The requirements to get this ship will be special. First a mission to manufacture a prototype at a Corvus station. This mission will require a lot of parts in addition to maybe 10 million credits. The Pilotmust then take equip this prototype on their ship, and again, no other weapons as this consumes all grid power. To make things interesting it can be on a large port... Then the pilot must go to a sector with a queen plus escort. They must then get within 2000m of the queen and not less than 1000m away, and initiate the prototype. The prototype sends a Leviathan like signal to the queen that makes her follow you. However, you must stay within 2000m and not less than 1000m away for it to work. You have to guide the queen to Odia M14 and dock there, and the queen will follow you in. You must then manufacture more, to retrofit the queen for humab pilots. And then you have the Corvus Arachna.

This capship will have no insurance. So if you lose it, you have to do it all again. This is the cost of its OPness. And, I request the devs to make this one available for free players.

I made a typo there...one collector uses 1 bandwidth unit

This puts Corvus ahead of all other factions

No faction has been able to control the hive, nor do they know how they work and then Corvus comes and says ayo the queen is mine

-1. Huge - 1 from me personally.

Just the fact most of the ships (including the first one) has 270 turbo speed is ridiculous, the last one is even more ridiculous then the other ones with 190 turbo speed. Im very against this idea, including a ship having "super powers" or being based off hive technology.

First glance thought:
the ability to "produce"/manufacture Synth Silksteel would change the whole game dynamic in favour of high-level/experienced players, making it an even steeper ladder for new players to climb.

General idea of introducing more manufacturable fighter-class ships: +1
stats may have to be up for scrutiny

The "Corvus Arachna": interesting idea with the ability to "mind-contol" hive bots

because new ships are good fun!

Rule 5. Please split the suggested ships into sep threads and I'll reply.

SIGTERM the fact that Corvus has "tamed" the hive bots is neither a problem and not is it surprising. Corvus is an anonymous crime syndicate and has absolutely no interest in wars and the tedious administration of territory, so the fact that Corvus has manufactured the Hive ships won't be a RP problem. Nor is it surprising, as Corvus can go the farthest in its research, as it is unfettered by things like laws.

IronLord please note that the ship with 270 m/s top speed is very very light and unarmoured. It can be killed by 2 posi hits. This hugely inhibits its use in combat. It can be effectively used only to travel from point A to B fast. And it's fun to fly a ship that is faster than anything else, but can die at the slightest hit. And while the other ships are OP, they are manufactured. So this still keeps a niche for the other ships. The "superpowers" of the Arachna are offset by the fact that it will be VERY difficult to get one, as it involves lots of hauling, staying within a particular range of a queen while evading her escort with no weapons and a 10 mil cost.

storm_titty I myself am sceptical of the ability to produce Synthetic Silksteel. I just added it as an afterthought that I knew would be hotly contested. It's just a possibility. For me, the Arachna's "mind control" and agro reducing abilities are enough. And I welcome any suggestions on the stats. I'm not very experienced, so the suggestions of experienced players is always welcome.

haxmeister Thanks for the support!

Please WAF this is all in one thread because it's one topic that I feel should be passed collectively or not at all. Please don't insist on splitting it into multiple threads. I too have a limited amount of time, and cannot manage conversation on 5 different threads at once.

I don't think you've made a case for adding significant game play or fixing a problem. You also have not made a case for why these things should be passed collectively or not at all. There's no clear balance issue that would require that. To me it feels like you've proposed content for content's sake, but have not added or solved anything that would make the effort worthwhile.

I'm not a dev nor am I involved in their decisions about Suggestions, but from my experience this is not the sort of presentation that is going to entice them to set aside development time to decipher and work on. You really aren't living up to rule #5. I hope that you will take this feedback and continue to make suggestions, but refine your process down to a laser focus.

Whistler, when you say something, I'm a chicken.

So (squak squak) I'm gonna write 5 different threads. With more (sigh) detail.
