Logoff/Backon Time Limit

We have a 10 second limit to logoff to limit abuse of logging off to avoid death... but we have nothing for the log back in to prevent, basically, cheating, using logoff/logon...

A few people are keeping characters, each in a different sector, so that when they see a trader, or a cap in progress, they can just swap teams, characters, whatever, and pop up in front of the path of their target...

How about, after you logoff, having to wait 3 minutes to log back on... keeping people from swapping characters just to make a profit.

Due to the number of bugs that require you to log off and back on to fix I believe this isn't a good idea.

well then make it only affect the second time you do it. :p That way you cant change back

You'd still be able to circumvent that by changing accounts. This might be worth the effort when verifiable accounts come into play and everyone has but one account.

And when we're no longer actively testing the engine and need to logoff and on like Eldrad said.

i know i get a bug that keeps me from moving A LOT and i need to logoff/backon

Hrm.. How about this...

If someone logs off, and back on, like, to fix the invisible or no docking bug...

They would have the same IP, and the same account, and the same character name. So, server says fine.. and, they log in.

Someone logs off, then tries to log back on as a different character name or account... server says.. hmm.. this IP just logged off now its trying to log on as someone else...
And it makes them wait 1-3 minutes to log back on.

Then you can still log off to fix things. And you can log on and off repeatedly with the same name to test things... ?
