Shield Sounds
Shield impacts should have their own sound file instead of the current low rumble energy weapon impacts make, if you're as lazy as I am you could pitch it up a little bit and call it good enough; if ya wanna get real fancy about it could sound all sci-fi and futuristic with bloops'n'zoops or whatever.
Adding a sound or a distinguishable beep when your capship's shield break would also be pretty freakin' spiffy but I might be getting ahead of myself here.
I got more ideas for shields but i'll hold onto em for a few more months/years since it's more complicated and they've got some major gameplay implications!

I'll take a look. I've been thinking a lot about sound lately. I don't know when I'll have time to actually tinker with sound again, but it's a good thought.

Better to make the suggestions now, so they're integrated into our long-term thinking. It can be the difference between something being possible versus not-possible, depending on how an underlying system was written.
But, put them in their own threads :). One thread per concept, remember. Aggregated threads that are "all about shields" are much harder to track, especially if there's any debate on different ideas within a single thread.
