"Yes, and if you read the thread you would know why."

Interesting. I just re-read the thread to make sure I didn't miss anything, and most of what was said up until about three fourths of the way through the thread were specific complaints about either the Valk or the Prom. Then people started commenting on how they worked together, and I can't find anyone who "strongly disagrees" with the concept of one ship class being inherently better able to kill another. [Fighters kill fighters. Fighters kill bombers. Bombers kill capital ships. Capital ships keep the smaller craft alive.] seems to be the most common theme. People don't like it, sure, but they don't "strongly disagree" enough to have come up with a better idea.

Nowhere did I suggest that fighters should kill bombers with impunity, only that a fighter would be the best choice to kill a bomber. I'm not talking RTS rock-paper-scissors here. More of a probability function - fighters kill bombers more often than the other way around. Like I said before, you can't ever really balance something like this perfectly, so that all ships are different but equal. The devs don't have time to do it before this summer anyway.

harvest: Thanks. What I mean to say with "shouldn't" is that the game as it stands still needs some raw balance work, and that in the end it hopefully will roughly work that way.

Buff L-port weapons with the exception of Swarmers and screamers and then it could outbomb a fighter.

Also, a 28000 hp prom with a higher maximum speed than a valk? Uh, right. As it stands there needs to be a third component(frigate?) that balances out these two.

If the prom had low agility and was primarily designed to destroy capital ships/give minimal support to fighters, then it would make sense...
