A quick fix for The Problem.

Player X destroyed Player Y
<Player Y> I was typing.
<Player X> you had a nice juicy bounty :)

Player X destroyed Player Z
<Player Z> I was in a trade / adv. combat mission.
<Player X> you had a nice juicy bounty :)

Player X destroyed Player A
<Player A> Hey, you just added more bots to this combat group with <instert Player X's friend>, Player B, Player C, etc.
<Player X> oh well, you had a nice juicy bounty :)

Player X destroyed a New Player
(New Player doesn't know how to talk and is just simply angered)
<Player X> woot, another juicy bounty :)

You devs already say score and bounty are useless completely for 3.4 and are planning to remove it.
How about this:
Change the +15 to bounty for every kill to +0.
Change the set to 40 on death to set to 0.
Reset all bounties to 0.
Reset all scores to 0.

OPTIONAL Bellow is what could be done after the fix:
Remove score and bounty from the right side panel and userlist to save space and then add license levels.
Add kills and deaths in the userlist or some other numbers.
Add license levels to the right side panel

Important Note: Bounties should be continued in the game in a different way, but not in this way. Bounties should be added on into the game in the future in a way such as when destroying someone in a mission you gain bounty. But the way it currently set is not the way. For now, this is the quick fix.

Score is useless. I agree that it should be taken out. Heck, I don't think any of the personal stats even matter anymore. I mean does it matter how many times you killed stuff? Killing a thousand buses doesn't make you a better player than someone who killed a single highly skilled player. Or what about the times you've died due to lag, bugs, or bot typekills? Point being, they're not a true representation of a player's skills. Really, all that matters now is faction standings and skill levels. Teamwork oriented stats would probably be better.

As far as bounty goes, I think it ought to stay just to give players something more to do. However, the reason newbies are targeted a lot for their bounties is because of botting. Botting should not raise a player's bounty. It really doesn't make any sense if you think about it. I mean you're killing lifeless drones for training. And judging by the designs of the drone, they're simply recycled with scrap components after they die. So what reason is there to raise the bounty of this individual who is going through government sanctioned training? They haven't broken any laws!

I think bounties should be reserved exclusively for PKs. Let's say player X kills player Y, who is loved by the faction in the sector they died in. Player Y did not engage in combat first. Player X did. So not only does Player X's faction standing decrease, they also get a high bounty on their head courtesy of the faction that loved Player Y. This IMO would make more sense. I also think that some type of true "BountyBot" should be integrated into the game, where you can personally anonymously set bounties on other people via the mission computers.

Arolte, perfect. Was hoping people would understand my direction.

Agreed.

Agreed.

Also in replace of score (eventually, not the quick fix) in the target window i would like to see the that player's current sector standing, as right now there is no warning to which direction your standings will go by killing a player.

Funny how these little accidents cause such huge gameplay problems. Bounty was supposed to be removed, but then we had 12489009 other things to fix before we really noticed.

I will remove scores, and bounty, if it exists, will be calculated based on faction standing within the current sector, and killing a player would give you a monetary reward and combat skill proportional to their level inversely proportional to yours.

I think I'll just set it to 0 for now; you get the combat skill points anyway.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
i'm ranked No. 15 because of bounties!!!
how am i going to be able to show off my leetness in IRC if i'm not on at least page one of the player list.
Arolte, AgY, Phoenix, Icarus, they have all attacked me for my bounty...but they would still have attacked me, bounty or not.
it's a combat-based game. get over it, you fight..some you win, some you lose. that's life.
if you don't want to be attacked for your bounty, add the option to remove it.

also, the trade in bounties is booming atm. it's nice, friendly business...with weapons :D

PS - hey AgY, remember when you attacked me when i was botting in S17 last night? for my bounty... when yours was quite high too... NYAH!!

randomblast's and AlienB's arguements are pointless...there are only 3 sets of numbers that matter:

...and...
Itani X%
Serco X%
NT X%
Corporations X%
AND, How much AlienB is penalized for anything he does =D

AlienB made an argument???? Please point me to it.

I believe randomblasts post is outdated, it seems he still lives in old days :)

I am all for removing scores completely RIGHT NOW! W00T!

A1K0n your idea is great, when can we expect that to be merged into the game?

Thanks again.
