Drone II's

Could they be made to be as aggressive as Sentry's? I mean you have to follow them all the way across the sector until the FINALLY stop, then blast at them and hope to kill them before they start flying across the sector again, and at that point you are out of battery, so you sit, wait, charge up, and do it again. They RARELY ever engage me in combat, they just sit there and fly around and let me blast away at them. That is if I could catch the damn things.

They will turn about half the time if you fire a few shots across their bow (and manage to connect) as they scream past you on their way to the cold, dark nether regions of the sector.

(When danger reared it's ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled... Brave brave brave Sir Robin (I didn't))

During the previous incarnation (3.4.3?), Drone II's were briefly slightly more aggressive and stayed more in a single area rather than going out and patrolling a big space like they do now. I liked them better that way. It's bad enough you have to chase the Recon I's, but I suppose that's the point. Having to chase the Recon I's over 5-7km, then racing back another 5-7km to chase a Drone II can get really annoying.

It's not even that often for me, I can shoot them repeatedly and they don't turn to fight, sometimes even destroy them and they ignore me, and continue their everlasting quest to see the whole sector in under 3 minutes.

It's true.... more than half the time the drone II's don't even respond as I'm shooting them. They just keep flying in a straight line until they blow up.

heh. Drone II's have always behaved this way, haven't they?
when I started out in a bus, I almost enjoyed going from drone to drone at an angle, and kill them quickly because I was out of their "effective sensing angle"
