As I understand it some time after the release there might be a european server to which the europeans will be moved from better pings. Just a brainfart from me but would it be possible, or desirable, to make the european "universe" a seperate one with a link to the american. That way the europeans can still play with their american friends and if the ping becomes horrid go back to our own neck of the woods.

The Devs said that European players could request being left on the US Server but since the two servers are separate entities as well as separate universes I beleive the Devs said you had to pick one or the other.

I asked if it was possible to allow a single account to have a Char on the US Server, and another different Char on the EU Server but I never got a responce

I know what the Devs said about the European server but I would like to play with all the guys I've been playing with and as it is the suggestion forum I thought I would post it as a suggestion. I have no idea if it is feasable, if so I would applaud it if not well then ok. The idea of having a char bound to one server does not realy appeal to me but if that would be the only way then so be it.

An EU server with no link would SUCK! In addition to all those awesome people and friends that Magus mentioned, we'd also lose Dave and a few other choice folks.

The way I remember it, he said something like "If after release Vendetta really takes off we might add a European server to improve the latency situation. Beta testers would be offered the option to remain on the [high latency for them] US server, or to be transferred to the European Server. We also might add an Asian server, because lag there is really bad."

And, btw, if lag's bad now, wait until there's 1000 people online... 100x the current amount...

--it's playable... you'll probably end up with a ton of asian rocketeers, since when ping goes up, it's like playing while blinking. (not to mention the loading screen takes forever)

Maybe have a wormhole to the different servers (EU, US, asian etc); and when you enter it it says: "OMFG!!!111 YOU ARE ENTERING THE US/EU/ASIAN SERVER!!!1111 IT COULD LAGGGG!!!111"

They'd have to be different galaxies. So the Asian server would be a galaxy, the European server would be a galaxy, etc. Since the sectors are generated on the fly they would all look different and possibly even have different names. So there could be a way to warp between galaxies, but otherwise communication between them would be nil.

No, no, the only way to get from one server to the other should be via transporter accident.

It will also have the effect of replacing your charactor in the current universe with one sporting an evil goatee. Or in the case of the likes of Icarus it may remove the evil goatee.
