I noticed that when I deleted my character to switch to Neutral Territories, I lost my Alpha badge in the profile screen. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but just so you know those badges appear to be dependent on how long the character has lasted, not the account itself. Perhaps that could be changed so it uses the account induction date as a reference instead.

That is a great idea, we had the same problem in Earth and Beyond with the beta players loosing their beta decal if they deleted the charactor, having it based on account would be much better :-)

Heh, good thing I searched for a thread like this. Yeah, stupid me made Eloi D'Acrayel and deleted Eloi and lost my Alpha badge. Could you fix it so that the every character, new or old, has the Alpha badge as long as it is under an account that was used pre-1.0 I guess I could call it. Put it in the new update!

Maybe there should also be a special badge for those of use who've been around since the pre-Alpha days, when men were real men, the galaxy had only nine sectors, and flags were rediculously easy to capture (until they made turbo unavailable for the flag-carriers.)

What about when the galaxy only had THREE sectors, and you really only saw players in two of them?

Just give a player for every month a new medal (use Japanese sylabels if you run out of Greek letters) and make the ship go 5% faster too! With shields and large proton defending torpedoes!

Or hell, just don't do anything.

Respect is earn't, it doesn't come from owning a badge you have because you started palyigna game before someone :-P

At the end of the day its an ego thing, but hell, I see no reason why aplha/beta players shouldn't get that little token for their account that lets other players know they were there before the game went live :-)

why not replace those badges with a single "version" badge?
this badge would list the version you started your account on.
not just for testors but for everyone to show who the veterans are even if they make new characters.

the per-account badge thingy is on my list.
