Ridicule function, waypointing

Nov 12, 2004 rhapsody link
Two things, the second of which may have already been suggested:

1) I believe there should be a "ridicule" function (/ridicule "player name") which allows the community to reject someone's player name for being obscene, absurd, or not in keeping with the Vendetta atmosphere. If a certain (large) number of players /ridicule a person, he or she has the option of changing her name, and until he or she does so, he or she cannot speak on channels or enter stations :-O.

2) Micromanaging pathways: people should be able to set a path from, say, Divinia to Odia which stops at stations along the way. That is to say, it has the function of setting a waypoint, a point to warp to between the departure point and the destination point, like "Go to A-3 from N-7 through D-5," but this would exist on both the subsector and sector levels ("Go Bractus from Jallik through Dau [note: i know it's a long way, just making a point here]).
However this must be balanced with some kind of downside, because the ability to do this kind of ruins the whole idea of ion storms, because with waypointing, they can be entirely avoided by staying clear of subsectors with meteors in them. Another solution would be to have dastardly roaming ion storms that appear in random subsectors within a sector, without regard to the sector being empty (stations excluded, of course).

Those are my suggestions. Thoughts?

1) There is a /vote "playername" mute function. I think it lasts for 24 hours. Not sure how many must vote though.

2) This would almost completely eliminate the advantage of travel experience. At the very least, setting waypoints should be enabled by a very high tech equipment requiring obscene amounts of trade XP. My opinion anyway ;)

Why should we have to pay for nothing but convenience? It offers no advantage or disadvantage. Plotting an in-system course wouldn't automatically allow people to avoid storms, etc., and it isn't anything considerably higher-tech than what we have.

Travel experience would only help in what courses to plot. Other methods could be used to ensure balance.

There are sectors which appear empty, but are not ...
