why station's bots will attack you if you are not red?

And your suggestion is...?

Maybe you should tame your wild trigger finger and not shoot people near a station. =) That's the biggest reason that def bots (station/strike) fire on friendly players. Other than that, maybe you should see if it's some kind of bug..

I personally have never been (randomly) fired on by green def bots, or red ones for that matter (Corvus, etc.). Just play nice around them and they'll ignore you.

Why do you think that bots are the whole point of the game? They aren't - this is a *multiplayer* game. Go after real people, or wait for them to pirate you. This game is not (and won't be) peaceful at all, except in areas of trade. There is no 3-axis war. The UIT are not at war, so don't expect a TGP/Axia/etc. def bot to come after you for no reason.

Station bots are there to defend the newbs from being terrorized. That's it. If you want them to leave their post and come after you because you looked at them weird, that's not going to happen.

Faction standings are there to make more things available to players that choose a particular career path, not to foster hate-wars between otherwise peaceful factions.

EDIT: Oh, and just because someone is green to you doesn't mean you're green to them.

How do you know you were not red on the station bots' radar? (This assumes that bots would even have radar with a display). The bots are there to protect the interests of the corporation, which includes protecting pilots who haul their products or keep their shipping lanes clear. It sounds to me like you did something in their space that caused them to make you at least Kill on Sight temporarily. Essentially, you were in bad standing for the moment. You undoubtedly had warning when you initiated that behaviour. Did you attack one of the bots or fire on a player who was in good standing?

Nya13 I reacted the same as you instinctively firing back at someone stupid enough attack someone in protected space. I don't even remember if they hit me or not, but I panicked and now I know if you don't start firing back they will be dealt with quickly by the station bots and you can safely go own your way.

I don't know if their response is as instantaneously as I was destroyed at all stations. Some do only have one Guard bot?
Maybe someone else know if its actually possible to hit and run in one piece in protected-guarded-no fire zone areas.

Attacking somone at a station is quite doable, if you are swift enough when doing it. The StrikeForce will launch, and the station guards will turn to fire, but if you are 1k away from the station when you start, you have a headstart, and your victim will be nailed by the time the SF reaches you, and you can safely leave, return and grab the cargo.

Useful hint:
If you suddenly decided to attack someone next to a station, you can go sit in a dock and shoot at people from the safety of a dock! Weee!
Makes people that are docking a bit paranoid. No-one likes to fly into a stream of busgun shots.
