Trade suggestions...

Perhaps an idea:
Lets say for instance, your rich...And it's time to just sit back and run your trade business, you know with out shiping all that cargo yourself...So imagine if you buy a large amount of civilian textiles and need them shipped to a sector 5 jumps away to make mega profit...wouldn't it be great if you could just hire someone to ship it for you...think about it... your rich and have tradewares throught out the galaxy in various stations...if there was a menu tab that posted where your cargo was and where it needed to go, and how much you would make shipping it, and the ability to take the job, well then, this would help out every one. new players would get a feel for trading, those who don't wanna figure out trade routes could just simply be shippers, and everyone would profit...this would make a great begining point for corporations in this game, especially if guilds/corporations/players owned stations.

Another idea:
Supply and Demand, ya you got the basics...but imagine...
If stations relied on mining, to create other products, then mining would have a greater purposse... say for instance there wasn't an infinte quantity of lux goods at one station, say the more you buy, the higher the prices gets....say for instance if miners don't mine in one sector and bring the ore to a certain station then that station doesn't produce anything....say for instance, mining effected what all stations can produce....imagine the possibilities....

The dynamic economy actually runs on a craft system of its own, so this (suggestion 2) is already (mostly) true. Stations require ores and basic widgets in order to craft more complicated ones. The shorter the supply of basic widgets and ores, the more expensive the more complicated ones get. I think Waylon mentioned an example of how the economy's craft system works somewhere... it will be hard to find though.
