Palance Of Power

Im sure im not the only one who has noticed this.. But why are there tons of Serco players flying around in Valk's .. and NO Itani players flying around in Prom's? I think it's a very big problem when Serco are alloud to gain more than +200 itani standings.. they should only be aloud to become Nuetral with us and vise versa.

I'll just say it to get it out of the way: No Itani WANTS to fly the prom.

However, I see your point.
Dec 04, 2004 Spider link
Noone wants to fly a prom anymore, not even serco. :-/
Dec 04, 2004 gamejunky link
Thats not the point though :P The fact that Serco can pretty much chance there faction and turn from enemy to friendly is just wrong!
Dec 04, 2004 Spellcast link
you know, from a purely roleplaying perspective, the itani should WANT the serco to become liked by them. They are trying to gain friendship and understanding between the two races.

As far as game mechanics go, it does need to be harder for a member of the serco or itani to become "admired" by the other side.

Prometheus can compete 1 vs 1 a valkyrie?

but it s usless group vs group.

with a valkyrie you can dodge and run away indeed.

increase the promethus armor + 10 000.

10 000 is not that big.

ship that is 2x heavy (mass) = x4 armor

i think all the big ships in game need a better armor.
they are too heavy so the current armor is ridiculous.

ragnarok, centaur, promethus... add +10 000

""Prometheus can compete 1 vs 1 a valkyrie""

Obviously you have never flown a prom against a good valkarie pilot. I would wager that you have never flown a prom against any valkarie pilot, except that there are a lot of new itani getting their valks now and using them very poorly and with bad weapons loadouts.

Anyow, I think this thread has just started down a short fast road to locking if we dont veer off that particular subject. The reputation system is what was called into question, not the valk.

Personally I think that no-one should be allowed to have a combined reputation score of more than +600 with serco and itani.
(eg you can have +300 with both, or +600 with one and a max of 0 with the other, or +900 with one and a max of -300 for the other. and so on and so forth. )
or maybe a +800 combined.

How about the already suggested fix of your reputations with Itani and Serco must add up to 0?
Dec 04, 2004 Spellcast link
because 0 is too low and unfair to the UIT players. They should be able to get some positive reputation with both sides. After all a trader who is marginally respected by all his customers is in a better situation. In order to get to the level of respect where a faction would sell you a special ship however, I think that you should need to choose one side or the other since you are going to become notable and more generally recognized. hence the serco rep plus the itani rep can add up to a max of 400 or 600 or 800, for that matter it could even be +1199. AS long as you cant get +600 admired with both sides.

"Forum Moderator", Why was my post deleted? It was no more a flame (or rude) than NoAddedSugar's post.

I was pointing out that this is a continuation of a closed thread. It's almost word-for-word. Delete this post if it makes you happy, but I was not being rude or flame-throwing..

Or has the policy changed? Can we now reopen locked threads? Sorry, but I'm miffed.

thginkrej:

NoAdded's post should have been deleted and for some reason it didn't depart, probably operator error caused by my hopping back and forth. It's gone now.

IMO, the topic of the original post was NOT about valk v. prom so much as it was about whether or not one should be able to have more than a neutral standing with the enemy. It was unfortunate that ships were discussed at all. I regret that my initial glib response was seen as approval of a rekindling of the ship debate.

At any rate, the thread has continued to go astray so I'm locking it.
