EXTERIOR ADD_ONS

What if we could by add-ons to the ship, say that we are running in an atlis. we have the 32 item version. (before patch) we want to spend all of our money on this trip to get back as much money as posible. we are only traviling in our space so we need not worry about pirates. so we go the the Add-on tab of the station hub abd purchess: 4 large external cargo bays (10 extra cargo each) using 1000 extra mass + the cargo inside. thus making the exeleration from 0-65 in 30 sec to 0-65 in 2 min. BUT able to bring 40 extra cargo with. also turbo is disabled because it would rip off the add-ons due to laws of inerta, (unless there was a Slower way to turbo)

any thoughts?

add-on's would be fun, they could be equipped with small manuvering jets and to help with the inertia problem of the turbo jets. Although 20min to get to 200 sounds a bit much.

External cargo bays used to be in the "Vendetta Universe" design plan. They aren't tehre anymore...

perhaps they have them in the works, or will be released soon (one can only wish)

the 20 min was an mistake, i was using the num pad to the right and hit 2-then 0 .

i meant *from 0-60 in 2 min*

oh, and the extra boster rockets would be a different caro hold, theat heald mabie 8 insteead of 10 because the rokets have to go somewhere.

There could be add-on for fighters or flag ships that has a AI controled gun that stays around the owners in in whatever area needed. This could have its own HP so a player could take out someone AI gun. Also, if there is a flag ship that could repair other ships, the only way it would be balanced is if the flag ship had its statues lowered a lot or if there is some type of ammuntion to repair other ship. (ex ship part crates)

Sorry, but that's not how inertia works. Now, if the ship took damage if it accelerated to quickly... Or perhaps flight above certain speeds would cause damage from massive vibrations and the like... Inertia isn't the best way to explain lack of turbo, though. :P

For the record, this would be a nice addition. I'm not sure what it would take to implement, though.

I like this idea allot...

I actually think it could add an extra bit of fun if one were to be attacked...

Perhaps you could detach from the barge, and engage in defending yourself... However, anyone could hitch up to your barge then. (provided of course that they have the required hitch whatever.)

Very fun dynamic for escorts and priating, etc...

yeah the drawing for the serco prometheus had pictures of little add-on cargo compartments. . . . but it sounds like it would take a lot of time to implement. . .

however it takes very little time to implement a 'ship variation' with more cargo space.. and acheieves a similar result (example, TPG atlas X has 38 cargo spaces)

Icarus and I were talking, we're both in agreement that it would ROCK if rockets detached from the wing of a vulture and then their propulsion systems fired. Awww... would rock.

It would be nice to have the opption for External stores on ships, and just think all the pirates have to do is follow you out to 2500k and shoot you, and take you booty and lots of it.
