MERCenary-EXP ne function /merc invite " "

Dec 16, 2004 Knight_Of_Order link
/merc invite
/merc join " "
/merc create dau d13 pyrones d13 3000 " "
/merc accept
/merc accept end

what would this function do? it is the same as the /group fuction but a /merc is someone who followes the creater to the system.

lets look at this function: /merc create dau d13 pyronis d13 ""

/merc Duh its the fuction name
Create creates the merc missions
dau d13 The startiong system and insystem quardenents
pyronis d13 ending system and insystem quardinents
3000 the creds offered at end of mission
"" name of merc group

/merc invite Would invite to all people in the merc guild

so an example if i was trading from dau to pyronis would be

/merc create dau d13 pyronis d13 6000 "KoO"
/merc invite

(it would show this in the mission menu of any merc not currently on a mission)

*****Knight_of_order wishes assistence in the dau system, he is offering 6000 credits per person to travil from [Dau g13] to [pyrodes d13] if you wish to join /merc join "KoO"*****

(the the people in the merc guld near by would respond:)

/merc join "KoO"

(now Knight must look at the people who accepted and decide who he wants)

***DeathWish [dau f1] Ragnorock 5/5/6/6/9
***PansyNoob [dau d14] wraith 2/2/1/8/10
***OriginalKiller [dau d13] ec-88 0/0/0/0/0

/merc accept "DeathWish"
/merc accept end

it will show in the mission page to all those who tryed to join KoO retuin and where not excepted:

***sorry, Chaos_Knight as eceptid all the aplicants for this mission better luck next time***

and for those wh were ecepted:

***congradualations you have been excepted, use merc chat for further instructions, you cannot leave this merc group until the mission is compleat, you are dead, or you charge is dead. you will not get paid if ither you or your charge is dead.***

(shift-M) for merc chat just like (Shift-G) four guild

(merc) DeathWish-> hay nice to see you again, what the cargo
(merc) Chaos_Knight-> 34 aquian ore
(merc) DeathWish-> well, are you ready?
(merc) chaos_Knight-> yah, good luck! lol

when chaos_knight reaches pyronis d13 deathwish will get + 50/50/50/25/0 exp. for each Jump made with Chaouse night. so that is + 500/500/500/250/0 xp for this run (approximet) and for longer runs it would be more xp, thus making merc and player interaction better. it would also chaouse pirates to do something similar, thus making it worth the xp.

Counter argument:

"yah but the can just go back in forth through protected space and gain XP"

were this is true, in order to get the XP, they must go through at least one faction. so that means that the trade must go from Dau-to ither gray systems, serco stations or inti stationss. he could not trade from dau to azek for exp, but he will still get the xp.

"what if they are attacked inside faction space?"

if in that case they are attacked in faction space (from dau to azek) then they would get the points, but only if attacked by red blips on radar (IE enimes)

"where does money come from?"

Duh, the trader, after when the player types /merc accept, for each time he add someone it auto matticaly, takes the money and addes it to an account, if merc dies, before the aggread appon time, then the money is refunded to the trader. and the merc who dies gets nothing.

if the trader dies, then he gets all his money back and every one else gets nothing

If people are still confused after this i will ilaberate even more.

It could be made that the experience isn't determined by coordinates jumped but by the total number of different coordinates jumped.

counter argument

There are many blank coordinates in a sector

Other idea
have experience based on the following factors

Combat:
How many people the escorts had to damage or destroy
(This can be abused thou since repairs are free)

Danger level:
How dangerous a sector is dangerous to travel. This can be determined by number of enemies in a coordinate. Level of enemies in a coordinate. etc...
(This can be a mutiplier to everything so if the person only stays 100% safe areas, then they will never get experience)

Cargo:
The rareity of the cargo. The amount of cargo.
(it can't be price of cargo since that fluctuates or at least will eventually)

Time:
The amount of time it took to complete the mission.

Escorts:
The number of escorts.
(This will of course be a divider to the entire equation)

Coordinates:
number of coordinates jumped.

Sectors:
Number of sectors traveled

and maybe other factors.

Importantly:
an escort that dies should still get experience up to the point they died because they got their ship blown up just so the trader can succeed which is the best kind of escort.(One that doesn't run away)
Also experience should only be given if the trader succeeds.

thats what i was thinking, when i said jump, i meant sectores jupmed and/or worm holes entered. so like jump to worm hole =1 worm hole =2 jump to other worm hole =3 and so on and so forth.
