Centaur Pickaxe (Mining Variant)
Armor: 32000/32000
Cargo Capacity: 48cu
Weapons: 4L
Mass: 24,000kg
Length: 18m
Thrust: 200N
Max Speed: 50m/s
Spin Torque: 5.0Nm
Turbo Max Speed: 280m/s
Turbo Energy: 50e/s
Radar Range: 2000m
Price: 16,000cr

Developed by Tungeska Heavy Mining Concern, the Pickaxe is an ideal single-pilot mining vessel. Its four large-size ports enable the loading of multiple beams, and its forty-eight cargo units of space let it carry a full load. Because it has a low spin torque and thrust, and a high mass, it is not useful as a combat vessel. It is, however, capable of a very high maximum turbo speed (although it takes quite a while to get it up to speed). This allows it to traverse huge asteroid fields. The Pickaxe is only available from stations with a reciprocal ship exchange program with Tugeska, and requires a standing level of 300 or higher with the Concern. It is best complimented by a fighter-class escort and a Tungeska Centurion scout vessel.

You're going to get an argument about that turbo speed Rogue, but not from me (not much anyway). A max turbo of 180 would be acceptable (to me) as long as there was no drain.

Why did you cut the radar range to 2000m? Unless it has a built in mining scanner as a tradeoff, lets leave the radar setting at 3000m.

I like the 4 large port slots for mining beams (and whatnot). Perhaps the cargo capacity could be bumped to 50cu.

Cool name.

EDIT: Re: radar range
Ah, I see. It's a tie in with this ship suggestion of yours...

Why that turbo speed? Because it takes about 10 minutes to get up to speed. If someone's going to wait that long to get up to full speed, I feel that they should get as much as they can handle.

The radar range is to prevent people from using the high turbo to use this as a scout ship. And because I want to shake up the monotony of the 3000m radar.

What about this? It basically extracts ore, but cannot carry it. So you have to use this in a group, one person flies the 'extractor', and the other person flies the 'ferrying ship' that collects and ferries cargo.

Slots: 3L 1S
Mass: 18000kg (to keep it from becoming uber-fighter)
Cargo: 10
Turbo: 200
Chassis: Ragnarok

Thanks for your designs.

Why think small? Cap ships are on the way...

Let's have a Cap ship that has massive cargo capacity and either:

A) a ton of slots for mining beams and a long range roid scanner

or

B) lots of bays for smaller ships to mine and drop off cargo.

I'm thinking of something with a cargo capacity of, say, 1000 or more, with a mass to match. Of course, it would handle like a mountain and need an escort for use in hostile roid fields, but the profit per voyage would be decent.

I think small because small means it has a chance it will actually get implemented.

Btw I really like Roguelazers design.
