Battery s to store the energy and Generator to Creat the energy...

Yah, one thing thats been on my mind is this... how go the batteries charge. By solar power?

well it could...

so now we have 2 things in the store

batteries and generators

--------Batteries------------

Free battery (Standard slot)
Medium battery (Standard slot)
Heavy bat (Standard slot)
Hi Capacity Battery (Large slot)

Fast Charge (((GONE!!!!!)))

-------Generators-------

Free Generator (Same Charge as Free Bat)
Medium Generator (Same Charge as Medium Bat)
Heavy Generator (Sam as Heavy Bat)

Solar Cell: (1 for every 1000 mass the ship has before Equipping) up to 20/s charge

(Yah the the wraith is 9000 which is 9 cells ore 180/s BUT not all cells are seen in the light at he same time. don't forget that 1/2 would need to be on to and 1/2 on bottom. so then its only 80/s, but then don't forget, the further you are from the sun source the less charge it gets and solar flares give EXTRA power (and interferes with electronics (SEE TOPIC "Solar Flares" for more info). now then we get to the damage factor.

if you are injured past 75% in one spot of the ship then that part of the ships solar cells don't charge.

*-* top 60% damage =no charge
*---*
*----------* Right side is at 65% no charger
*--------*
*--* bottom side is a 90% is charging

total damage = 15% life left and only 2 of 4 cells are charging, making it only 1/2 charge meaning a max of 90% and the sun is on the other side of the map, (we are at a 13 sun is at k2 (just a guess) o it's max charge is only 45/s max.

now you can guess the rest.

obviously bigger ships have better generators. like a fusion. the bigger the generator the bigger the explosion.

there thats my 2¢

I always assumed that the engine is the generator - like in cars.

Solar Energy would not be efficient enough for fighter ships, they would need to run under some sort of fuel driven generator. Fusion or Fission would have been my guesses, but they could be something else, Hydrogen or Oxygen. Yet more reasons to go mine those water crystals. But I think everyone is against adding fuel into the equation at this point. Though having a generator and a battery and the combinations they create, like Kight suggests, would allow for a large amount of variety in energy reserves, and consiquently more chances for fights due to speed and charging issues, pirates should love that.

Who needs solar or fusion power? MY fighter is powered by my ego. :P
When the third game in the EV trilogy (Nova) came out, I was surprised to discover that they had moved from ships using "fuel" to using "energy," and the ramscoops you used to see were replaced by solar panels, fission reactors, etc. Even more surprising was that, ton for ton, solar panels were a lot more efficient than any of the non-Polaris generators, which meant my Pirate Starbridge (being able to fit four Solar Panels in the space for one FG) generated more energy than a Federation Carrier, which came with the "military-grade" fusion generator. IF generators are created, having multiple of one under normal circumstances doesn't strike me as a good idea. And...please don't copy EVN's idea for cheap, randomly exploding generators.
I think this would provide a good way for the Ragnarok to become viable. Drop its weight a bunch, and make the only generator that it can viably use weigh 8 tonnes.

"Who needs solar or fusion power? MY fighter is powered by my ego. :P"

LOL

ok I say we just have a generator that is powered by element... X! Noone can dispute how it works... or why it works... IT JUST DOES! So please stop trying to pick at this game, finding little irrelevant flaws! Not you Knight_Of_Order. I'm just talking in general. I like the idea of "(1 for every 1000 mass the ship has before Equipping) up to 20/s charge"
