Combat ever going to be fixed?

Ok, I'm not trying to start a flamewar here, and I would appreciate it if no one but someone whos actually in a position to answer this question replies to this post. Do you guys have any plans on doing anything about the problem of the backrolling and the swarm spammers. Currently, a lot of the more experienced fighters are having thier game ruined pretty well by the fact you dont have to know how to fight now to win against an aggressor. Im just wondering if you intended on doing anything about this or if you were going to leave it with the most effective "tactic" being running away from your opponent. Now this wouldnt be as much of a problem as I see it if the people who didnt want to fight were the ones doing this, but more and more people will come, fire one or two shots, and immediatly go into spammer or backroller mode. This continues for about 10 or 15 minutes usually, until the aggressor gets bored and tries to leave (in which case the opponent in question usually turbos toward you) or other people show up, This is sad and a big letdown from the combat i was experiencing when i first started. If all the battles are to be won by guided missles from afar, why bother with combat at all.

If you would please lock this so only a dev could respond to avoid any flaming from the start.

We're going to continually be updating and fixing problems with combat and balance as we move forward. Probably forever. Swarms were basically something that was invented to give unmaneuverable heavy ships a way to defend themselves.. or at least distract their attackers. However, when a change takes place.. like Andy's fixing the missile aiming code to suddenly be a lot smarter, it affects a lot of other balance issues which then have to be noticed and fixed.

Don't lose hope. We'll fix this. As long as we keep adding things, changing things, and improving things.. we'll always end up breaking something and have to fix it. It's a necessary adjunct of change. Just bring any problems to our attention and we'll check it out.
