There should be more ways for players to interact with each other on monetary terms. Players should be able to sell ships, weapons, mining beams, batteries, etc. to each other. Cargo should also be easier to transfer between players.

Yes I like this idea. I'll have 500 neuts 3's. I'll use 200 as I'm UIT and can't get them myself and I'll sell the rest to 0/0/0/0/0's to make their botting levelling easy.

Maybe I can get someone to sell me the Valent Maud too so I don't have to work to get it.

Maybe I'm just too cynical but that seems like a very easy thing to exploit.

It would be a pretty easy thing to exploit if taken to that degree, but some form of player to player trade in cargo would probably work out.

As a counter suggestion: please try to title your suggestions with something having to do with what you are offering. We get a lot of things titled "A few suggestions" and so on. It makes finding them again later rather difficult.

Well, there is that idea in WoW to have certain devices bind to a player, so that they can't be sold. With a great enough variety of weps and ships though, I don't think that would be a problem. Especially if a certain level req is imposed for those weps.

trading ships wouldn't really work, capturing ships maybe, with a percentage on not tripping the self-destruct.

The percentage chance of capture would depend on your level difference. If both players are roughly the same level, it would be maybe a 10% chance of success. Between players of different levels, this could drop to 0%.

This would be nice for letting some players manage to capture a special ship (which would be difficult to try out otherwise). But if its destroyed, that's it. You have to go through the long, laborious process of trying to get it again. Not to mention that trying to impart a ship to a friend (say a valent maud to a noob)
could make the price of the ship jump up by as much as 30-40 times. your 20,000(is that the price? basing it on the corvus maud) cred maud, will suddenly cost 600k

Special ships could even come standard with "security mechanisms" which would halve or even quarter the chances to capture.

Not to mention that you can make disabling a ship an art, very difficult to do.

It's all worth it, just for that one moment, when a pirate yells,

"WHOA, I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO CAPTURE A VALENT MAUD!"

YES YES this would be so freaking awesome, this way pirates dont have to kill anyone they just disable them and steal their credits/cargo/ship. people who are disabled could ask for help (either send out a call on chat or help-hail any freindly ship and send them an HUD marker to where you are (incase you drift away from sensor range), maybe "/beacon "playername"" or something) ... that would make the game so much closer to the EV series, which is so uberific

No capturing ships, please. That makes things way too easy.
When playing EVN, I eventually got my initial pilot's life down to a system:
1) Buy a heavy shuttle
2) Buy a fusion pulse cannon
3) Capture a Pirate Carrier
The result was the most boring thing of my life. I already had a ship capable of destroying many other ships, and selling it gave me enough money to buy a Pirate Starbridge with Thunderhead Lances which could destroy ANY ship... combat is no longer a challenge, combat missions become boring, the thread finishes too quickly, and yet another pilot with nothing left to do.

Yeah, but in that, there was always a chance to capture... here it would be very tough if you didn't have an equivalently special ship.
