Fix for Warpkilling

Just make Queens and Frigates count as large objects. Presto, problem solved.

Better yet, make it tie into the actual mass of objects. You can't jump near anything with a mass of greater than 100k or so.

OR anything with a great enough gravitational pull to disrupt the warp drive! And maybe for large objects and hive queens you could integrate a gravitational "pull" of a base speed around 1/10 of 1m/sec. So you would not really notice it unless you left your ship 50m away from a roid and then left your computer for an hour and found out that your ship was resting on the roid (I say resting cause I think if you went at 1/10 the speed of 1m a second, that your ship would not bounce off of the roid and get damaged....)

Question: If this is done, how will the capital ships jump? It can't get 3000m from itself, so is it exempt from the 3000m from large object rule, or does it not count itself? If it doesn't count itself, but does count other capital ships, it will be impossible to end capital ship vs. capital ship battles, except by the total annihilation of one, or mutual running away. And as capital ships are expected to be enormously expensive, people are definitely going to want an option to run away from a losing battle.

Aside from that, one element that defines the gameplay of fighting Hive Queens is that they're in empty sectors, which means you can set an escape jump point before engaging, so if you mess up & let yourself get blasted, you can just hit your activate button. I'd probably get used to it, as it's not a big deal, but at least at first not being able to do that would bug me a lot.

Make it so that you cannot jump within 3000m of any object with a mass of at least 100000kg greater than yours. Da. And give roids and stations obscenely huge masses.

Why not make it so that it relies on the shi itself. the bigger the ship the bigger the engine (or so it is said) ;)

now seriously. does an 18 foot motor boat have a nuclear engine...NO! there 18 feet (well...no...there not but thats not the point.)

the cent should jump from 4000, while the cap ships should jump from 2000.

that would solve much.

as for WH, there fine.
