Dead Weight

I Wish the devs would go through and delete all the 0-0-0-0-0 players and clean up or out all the guilds that really dont exist so the game would show auctial players , if all the 0-0-0-0-0 players were elimated , I Think a few Guilds would Fold also. and any new players that havent got a level yet that were deleted be given some kinda Bennie cuss their toon was elimated , but what the heck we all Know you can hit 1-1-1-1-1 in about an hour anyways.
Something else I would like to see is a guild being able to have Ranks for players who help others and have done Good for the Guild , a tag like SGT or something like that , and I think the Rank Name (lieut) should be more like General or ( Lieut Commander) as recruiting and Screaning, and at Times haveing to remove a Player from the Guild is a Very Important Job.

Thank you .

I Think That Instead Of Arbitrarily Deleting Their Player Base, Guild Software Should Continue What They Are Supposed To Be Doing: Making Improvements To Vendetta Online. I Do Concur That More Ranks In The Guild System Would Be Nice, But I Think That Pretty Much Everything Else Is Higher Priority.

Thank You.

Besides, if your guild has 5 active council members you can do the housekeeping chores yourself.

I think Tashazar was talking about across the whole player base sarahanne... Tashazar pretty much keeps her own guild policed very well. Others might not. Not to mention that there are probably some olde tyme guilds that have been entirely inactive since the dinosaurs lived on the earth, that need to be removed.

It would seem like some regular housekeeping needs to be done roguelazer. Most games like Vendetta Online that I have played, have some automagic function to purge players that play what is here an 8 hour trial, and never subscribe after a certain period of time.

However, it is to be remembered, an account that is four months old, and is still at levels 0.0.0.0.0 (or even 1.1.1.0.0 or combination thereof) does no one any good... the devs, or us players, and should be removed.

On the other hand.... it is to note that if I were to go on "vacation" and my levels were 8.7.8.7.8, I would hate to see my account purged after two weeks. I'd guess there is that side of the question too. There has to be a meeting point for such a thing. Be it 90 or 120 days... or some other arbitrary number of days of inactivity.

I do also highly agree that there should be some form of "Ranks Within The Guild". Having 2 Lts. that basically recruit, and 9 Council that basically can vote folks in and out of Council is a bit restrictive. There needs to be some method of assigning a "rank" to guild players that achieve a certain goal, but do not want, or are not qualified for Council or an Lt. spot.

Tashazars idea is improving Vendetta online.Guild's play a big part of a massively multiplayer online gaming environment,it is I would think, the best platform for player interaction. That is after all the name of Vendetta's software company,"Guild Software Inc." I think they have had enough ship combat balance patches for at least a month, give it a rest for awhile, give it time to weigh the balance, the bubble dosnt even stop moving before they come out with another balance because of their desire to make eveyone happy, which will never happen.I think Guild Software should devote some time to improving the Guild environment.Im sure there have been many good suggestions, put them all together and make something happen,I would think it would be an easier task than tring to balance ship combat.Tashazars idea is important, please give it some consideration soon.

I disagree. The sooner balance is sorted out between the ships/equipment we already have, the sooner new stuff can be balanced in with the existing arsenal.

Less whiners = better publicity = mo' players = mo' money = mo' cool stuff.

There is no perfect balance. And there will always be the whiners amongst us in this game. I can't say how many times I've heard someone remark that the devs "fixed ship A, but in the process broke ship B" (or some variation on that theme). There are those who use ships the devs designed as a mining ship for combat and the other way around... With people using the ships in this way, how can there ever be a balance that everyone will be happy with?

I'd believe the important point is content, not balance. Guild ranks, guild vs. guild combat, a "free zone" where a guild could get together and spend a time just blowing each other up for practice and no faction or XP gains or losses, guild XP points and ranks in the game, among many other suggestions posted around here relate to game content, not balance.

A guild is the basic "unit" of gameplay I would think, not balance. If a newbie joins a guild that is active, has several variations of guild activities available to the guild and the newbie player, that kind of stuff is more attractive to a new person, (and to vets too) and increases participation in the game.

Right now, these kinds of options are not available to any guild anywhere, so when players ask if trading is it only way to increase their trading license, in the current way the game is, the answer has to be yes. How much more fun it would be if a whole guild could go spend a Saturday trading.... teaching the new folks, chatting, and being a part of the community of the guild.

Why is it necessary for a dev to stop work on content or bug fixes to remove inactive players?

I don't see a convincing arguement to remove these players.

How is their presence or rather absence in the game influencing game play?

Clearing out 0 levels players may not be as easy as you think.

How do you know they aren't an alt of a paying subscriber? It is their right to have a level 0 character if they want.

Keeping the account for 6 months isn't an issue, because there is plenty of disk space to store the charater info.

Besides, the game hasn't even hit the 3 month mark for live status. None of the acounts would even be in consideration for deletion for at least 2 more weeks, using your suggested 3 mo inactivity as the benchmark.

If it matters, I recall a post from the devs allowing a 6mo inactivity before closing an account.

It's 6mo inactivity, actually. At least, that's what it's always been...
