Resolution Reset

Apr 11, 2004 roguelazer link
Okay, this is getting annoying. Every time I log into Vendetta from Windows, the resolution is reset to 320x200. I checked my config.ini and it clearly says 1024x768. However, when I start Vendetta up, I need to go into settings and change the resolution. Anybody else got this problem?

After you start up vendetta have you tried alt-tabbing and seeing what the resolution is set at in the config.ini?

Yep. It's 1024x768 all along.

Hmm, interesting. I just noticed that the resolution gets reset to 320x200x16, but the colour depth stays at 32bit. And when I change it back up to 1024x768x32, it doesn't have to reload textures. So it must be loading the right textures, but displaying the wrong resolution.

It does that for me without directx but with the "default" driver (i'll find out what it is) it changes the resolution...

send me a dxdiag output and maybe I can figure it out.
Go into the ControlPanel and select DirectX. Press the DxDiag button and run all the the directdraw and direct3d tests and then save the results and send me the output.

Just a note, 3.4.x hasn't fixed this yet.

I am also having this screen resolution problem since just this last update to 3.4.6. I am not able to logon due to the fact that the logon box is off screen. The problem did not manifest last night but tonight.

I am using the DX8 driver due to a glitch where all nation ships appear to be Serco red to me when using the OpenGL driver.

FYI: Under Windows, you can bring up DXDiag very simply by going START -> RUN and type dxdiag in the dialog box. This should bring up the DXDiag utility.

EDIT: Game crashed when applying changes from within video setting window. Sent bug report via the autobug console.

I just rolled back my video driver (gotta love that feature in XP) from 5.6.7.2 to 5.3.0.3 and that resolved the problem for me. Problem now appears to be a problem with the latest nVidia drivers.

OH heh I remember what I did now. I have it turn off AA if it fails to create the 1024x768 4xAA (for example).
