Vendetta under Boot Camp

Vendetta fails to run under Windows on a Macbook Pro 2.0 GHz. When the game is loading it brings up the windows error reporter.

Tell me this is a "just because you could" type thing SL?!

Yeuck, running windoze when you don't absolutely have too....

Because Black and White 2 doesn't run under Mac OS X, and I sure do like me some games.

Huh. I'm actually surprised. When we get an intel mac I'll have to figure out why VO doesn't run.

Oh that's ok... I was referring to VO specifically...

...I intend to do the dirty deed myself, soon as I unload this G5 on some poor sap.

ray, probably some intel mac hardware driver issue.

Updating to 1.5.6.1 of VO has fixed this problem. But, there is a weird error when viewing objects from a distance:

I get that regularly SL. When you zoom in right?

That's how things always look in DirectX from a distance. DX has bad clipping; I've seen this in other Windows games, too.

I get it on my Mac... Tiger.

That's the z-buffer not having enough precision. Basically, at long distances, multiple z values actually end up being the same value in the zbuffer, therefore always showing whatever was last drawn with that z value.

hmmmm, makes me wonder if this should be in the windows forum? :D

Question to the devs:

Will Vendetta Online keep on being an OSX game?
If you switched to windows/linux exclusively, I'd be very sad.
So, please, please, PLEASE, don't abandon the mac.

We wouldn't abandon the mac version. I think we have more mac players than linux and windows (not put together, though).

That's a relief to know, thanks. No sarcasm there.
