congrats, more bugs than linux

Dec 19, 2006 ananzi link
As of 12/19/2006 (also known as Saint Az Shole's Day), here are the bug report counts:

Discuss Windows-specific issues here. 624
MacOS X Discuss OS X-specific issues here. 2498
Linux Discuss Linux-specific issues here. 2357

-----

of course, this is only a silly view of whats going on. what we need to know is how many players are on which platforms.... and how often these people report bugs in forums.... and how much time is spent by devs responding to these things.

maybe ther just arent many windows people playing VO, or maybe there are but they dont post bug reports in message boards because they are conditioned to think nobody cares, or maybe... errr. yeah.

also 'linux' actually counts for perhaps a dozen platforms, one for each distro. (still waiting for that port to linux on the AS400 minicomputer... and the 80286 port as well...)

Or Windows users think that their bugs are everyone's bugs and post them in the bug forum instead of the Windows forum.

Then also we have posts inflated by silly non-bugs such as mine and yours.

{
Oh, and yeah, the count is for posts. Not unique threads. Not every post in each forum contains a bug.

And actually, the majority of the topics in this section are the sort of self congratulatory, we're so smart for using a Mac type of topics that Mac users are so well known for.

That said, I think most Mac users post bugs to the bugs section...

For instance, on this page alone... there are only 3 bug threads. The rest are all specifically chatting about off topic Mac stuff. As opposed to the Windows side that has >20, and the Linux forum which has around 20.

So there. Macs rule. Congratulations Gavan, you are a super smrt (I am so smart! S-M-R-T!) Mac user!

Macs are now NON-DIFFERENT (fundamentally) from PCs. OS X rules... Macs are just bit better integrated and have prettier cases.

And, I never thought of this as a bug forum... more a general OS X/VO discussion forum. Notice the use of the word issues rather than bugs as with the Bugs forum.

So... erm.. nice try. As I've said elsewhere... you're not really a very effective troll, ananzi. Give it up already.

You'll notice that the main thrust (the first sentence) is in reply to YOUR post Gavan, not his. So 6 maybe.
