Jerky on a g5?

Feb 18, 2004 Skyfox link
My dad's got a new duel 2ghz g5. We've got the latest 10.3 and the rad 9600 card. It plays pretty much everything at smooth speeds. Yet last night, I was noticing that vendetta jerks. It'll go from 200fps, to about 6 fps for like 5 seconds, then it will return to 200fps, then back down to 6fps. Anyone else experinceing this?

From what I hear the memory leak bug thingy hasn't been fixed yet for the OS X version of Vendetta. I know I've been having the same problems, even with shaders turned off. Turning shaders off might help in your case, but the only sure way to get those FPS rates back up is to restart Vendetta completely. Also the next version of panther, 10.3.3, will upgrade the graphic drivers of both ATI and nVidia cards. That might help improve FPS rates or fix anything that may be broken. I know a few games like UT2K4 and Halo are having some difficulties as well. Hang in there.
