Fullscreen + Compiz-fusion = crash/refuses to actually fullscreen.

So anytime I full screen vendetta in compiz-fusion it doesnt actually fullscreen, its more like it just goes to always on top, cept my panels are still higher than it. It was crashing originally, but I fixed that.
Quake4, ut2004, armagetron, and neverball all run fine in fullscreen mode, so Im reasonably its not compiz-fusion.

What is compiz-fusion?

Andy did the fullscreen Linux support, but I think it just resizes the x display and moves VO to the upper left corner. I could be completely wrong, though.

That actually sounds like exactly what vendetta is doing. And compiz-fusion is a 3d compositing window manager, its similar to beryl.

If you hit alt-ctrl-keypad + and -, does it switch resolutions on your X server? (Regardless of whether vendetta is running)

yes sir. Ive got 1680x1050, 1024x768 and 800x600, Do I need to add something to the modelines?

Probably not, no. I was just curious. Because alt-ctrl-+ is basically what the game does in order to go fullscreen and I don't know whether there's a better way. Ray checked the quake 3 code and it works exactly the same way. I'll check how SDL does it.

Try turning of the cube. It's the cause of lots of 3d issues apparently. (Was for me.)

So far this is the only game im having issues with, Ill keep tweaking and if I get it to work Ill post how. If I turn on the workaround for the old way to fullscreen itll fullscreen but wont accept kb input. Also, the way to get most 3d apps to work fine is to turn on the "Undirect Fullscreen Windows ' option in the general area of ccsm

Oh, haha, im a noob, works fine now, it was a focus issue was all, thats why it wasnt accepting kb input. So to make it work under compiz fusion turn on Undirect Fullscreen windows and Enable Legacy Fullscreen support.
