Vendetta for Linux/ARM?

Nov 15, 2009 testimies link
Hello,
I've just ordered the Touch Book from AlwaysInnovating and hopefully will be able to test it out soon enough. When I looked at the specs of the thing, it immediately occurred to me that this machine would even be able to run Vendetta acceptably. The thing has a ARM Cortex-A8 cpu at 600 MHz and the SGX 530 graphics from Imagination Technologies (a successor to their venerable PowerVR architecture).

Now, I know porting an entire game to a "new" architecture is something most game companies certainly would NOT decide to do, for economic reasons, but since Guild Software is such a small game house, it would be a very very interesting endeavour! Judging by my own experience, it will be very straightforward to just compile the game sources on an ARM host and if no platform-specific bugs exist in libs and such, then it will Just Work(tm). Of course, support is an entirely different thing.

Are the devs listening?

Heh, we'd at least attempt it if we had an ARM-based computer to test it. So, if someone is willing to donate one, we'd try and see if it is simple or not.

Just for the record, I'd also be interested in an ARM port.

Nokia 900, or more likely, the Pandora. Hell, a Nintendo DS port would be cool too : p
