hey just was wondering isnt there any way to update the game without having to re-download the entire thing???

Normally the game has an updater that runs when you launch the game, at least when installed with the installer you can download from this site.

If you installed it via some other method, then I do not know. I remember they said that some of the alternate distribution methods for the game required disabling the incremental update to abide by the terms of the distribution system.
