Could you(developers) put the controls up in the center instead of down at the bottom? I am having trouble moving my thumbs all the way to the bottom of the accelerometer due to my protective case. I am using a ZTE ZMAX.

It's not an official solution, but you can use the DroidButtons plugin to do exactly what you have requested.
