On android, at least for daydream devices, you need the HD version of the app from the play store, and i would not be suprised if you needed vr connected to use vr mode.

Yes, support for Daydream requires the HD version, while support for GearVR requires the version from the GearVR store. The HD version is a Hybrid app, so if you run it on a Daydream device, you're prompted with an offer to run in VR mode on startup.

No, he couldn't have - Google Cardboard is not a supported VR headset for mobile VR with Vendetta Online - something about the devices being underpowered for running VO, which is a full-sized game after all.

The supported mobileVR headsets include the Oculus Go, Google Daydream VR, and Samsung's GearVR.

I currently play VO on the Oculus Go which is an awesome platform for your game.

Are you releasing it on the Oculus Quest too.
