also, /verbose does not work.

All hostile ships show as green on radar.

and I had a little incident with my valk getting stuck in reverse suddenly... couldn't stop backing up.

Turning off the station in background option does not stay "off". If you leave a station and go to another it resets to the default "on" position. Extremely annoying as it makes using the station interface... slow.

I'm constantly getting phantom bots in the sector character list - sometimes they have names - but they either don't exist or they are extremely far out - but they don't seem to leave until the sector resets. Like I said before: some have actual names, some have just numbers, some have "pending names." But the ones with just numbers or pending names usually end up never existing, or there's an error with the list or something.

I too have noticed phantom bots , they seem to vanish after a while , probably about the time when the convoy to which they were originally attached reaches its destination .
However I think that it is something to do with deliverator , since it happens with the old client as well.

The behaviour of the Jettison cargo screen is changed and less useful than the current client. When specific items are selected and the quantity of that item is updated, (as ore is while mining) that item is deselected, unhighlighted and the action button changes to Jettison All instead of Jettison Selected. Items should stay selected until manualy deselected or actually jettisoned.

I have also experienced the "green block" instead of ship diagram for damage display after changing the resolution. And I second Lebermac's issue with the FPS being pretty bad during battle on the new client. I'm sure it wasn't my connection because I switched back over to the old client and the whole thing ran much smoother.

Being in a group, I did /hudmode (I usually do, to see my own ship and stats), and another player joined the group. The (updated) group health info overrode my individual health info, but didn't make it go away, so I had both.

I can't say whether this would have persisted longer than 5 seconds, since I immediately switched the mode again out of reflex.

I have not been able to reproduce it yet, either.

Hmm, the phantom bot bug strikes again!



I killed this trader, and then he suddently apeared on the bot list twice, but I dont think they were actually in sector. I did try quicky switch between beta and production, and with the production client, these names were not visible, unfortunaty I got blasted before I had logged out and back in again (heh, I was sat on top of the worm hole, and forgot about the strikeforces that were chasing me :P) so i couldnt get back to the sector fast enough to see if they were still listed on the test client >.>

Dihelical Synthesis: /verbose must work because otherwise you wouldn't see those error messages.
What did you do to make the icons not line up with the ship in the ship equip menu?

has the integer scale for verbosity changed then? what level is needed to see characters enter/leave a sector? I had it set at /verbose 2 if you were wondering... and didn't see anything useful from it. Also, an echo to let you know that it recieved the command would be nice.

all I did was click on the equipment tab... it did it a number of tims, at different stations... in fact, it did it every time that I recall, both in the equipment and weapon groups tabs, though it seemes to fix itself after a while in the weapon groups tab.

Since verbose is a debugging tool, there's no guarantee that it will print the same info as the old client. There's a lot less verbose info being printed now than before. If you really need all that extra info, type:
debugprint=print
in the console and there will be a lot more info in no particular format.
When we release the lua code, you will be able to register for any event in the game to be able to respond to.

Did you make any major changes to the way you initiate the graphics on start-up between beta2 and beta6? I could run beta 2 just fine, but when I try to run beta 6, a window briefly appreas as if the client was starting up, then before the init. screen (the one that says which drivers are loading) even appears, I just get a windows window titled "Fatal Error" saying "Could not open a window".

Errors log below, let me know if you need any other. If you have any idea when between beta 2 and 6 you made changes that could have caused this, pls. let me know and I'll try to download the latest thing you think should work, but I do not feel like downloading ~500M to try and pinpoint the version myself...

Oh yeah, my graphics card is an ancient Radeon 7000 AGI, with 64 MB that may not be talking too well to the newest ATI drivers that I try to force it to work with, so I may be having a pretty unique issue here... :(( Thnx for your help

Weird. On monday, I will test with our radeon 7200. That is the closest we have to a 7000, I think. We supposedly had a 7000 but I can't find it.

First thing, type this into the config.ini file to see if it helps:
[Vendetta]
VideoDriver=OpenGL Reference GKGL driver

(or if you already have the setting, change it to that)
Otherwise, try beta4.

I had the same problem, and it seems to not even depend on the version (beta, or even general release) you're running.

Once I got it, I got it on all versions of the client until I rebooted windows.

It has not recurred since.

Oh, and my reason for hitting this thread...

/navroute does not function properly

I've tested it multiple times, and checked up on the saved files.
/navroute save works
/navroute load does not.

I had to switch back to the general client last night because of this - too troublesome a bug to deal with.

Engrossing as the technical side of things can be, perhaps turning an eye to immersion while you're poking around in the code would be beneficial. I suggest that "pending charid=########" could be changed to "Reading Transponder", or if you still need the ID numbers, "Reading Transponder #########".

I actually like that idea ^^. Perhaps when you open up the sector list it will say something like *Scanning Sector* and then a few seconds later it will load up the known names.
