A fraction is a part of a whole, i.e. one quarter (1/4, 0.25), a third (1/3, 0.333...) or an eighth (1/8, 0.125), the list goes on.
A faction is a group of people with coinciding aims, be they political, economical or racial (this definition is valid for Vendetta Online only).

Presumably, we could imagine human kind has evolved to a generic goo of the current various gene pools into a super bastardly race.
Aka, imagine a VO women as having feline curves of an asian. The elf-esque facial features of an european. The bust of an african. The butt of a latin.

I beleve right not you can only belong to one of the 3 natin officially (Itani, Serco or UIT).
People have asked to be alined with the other factions TPG, Corvus, etc) but i dodn't think that has been implemented yet.

As far as corporate factions go, it would be nice to have sub-factions.
No need to change current system but let's say you're admired in two (and only two) of the factions, one a nation another a corporate, then the faction could say your a [corp nation] faction. Aka:
