Recent pirate activity by the Cargo Liberation Movement simmered down to the usual lull after declaring their form of "peace" in Latos. Since The 8th of December, 4434, the CDC among other Trade and Anti-Piracy forces declared hositilities over as there were no hostiles to shoot! There has not been a major conflict in nearly a week. Pirates of the Cargo Liberation Movement have not disappeared, however. They have been reported lurking Verasi, Odia, Sedina and Metana, as well as trading of all the hypocritical things.

Operations within Latos are now as they were, back in control of the Corps of the Union and the flow of Free Trade. Latos H-2 is under constant watch and protection by our Companies, as well as nationalistic forces. Many thanks go out to both the Serco and Itani people for setting aside their differences temporarily to fight the most vile of foe.

This is to you pirates out there, and listen closely: We will not tolerate your presence. You delude yourself with visions of helping others by harming them, but the galaxy does not fall for this paper thin hypocrisy. You have seen what happens when you bring the burden of War onto yourselves; you stumble and falter and eventually run away. Cowards and oppurtunists, the things you always were and always will be.

This is really interesting. First of moldy as Bojan and Ghost have mentioned SKV is taking no part in this war. From what I know I have not seen or heard us fighting in this. Maybe I will talk to our Commander and LT's on this if we are involved or not. What was said was if any member of SKV would to get shot by CLM then we will fire back. Thus far this has not happened and CLM has claimed they have nothing against SKV? So not sure where you are coming up with this but I am sure our commanders will have a word towards this.

While there have been 'hostilities' between individual pilots, Skygge Vakter is not actively involved in 'the war for Latos'. The 'hostilities' I mentioned can be attributed mostly to combat practice. The Cargo Liberation Movement has not actively threatened any of our pilots while on patrolling business.

Actually this Latos war has been pretty boring and its prolly the main reason why nobody gives a damn anymore.
When i joined in I remember having 1 or 2 days of fighting numerous swarming CDC, Sigma, Roda rags with exception of Nolan Faux who was the only one flying a light ship and a few TGFT & ITAN light fighters.
Kudos to Itan & TGFT guys for making it fun. Especially Ecka in his rev c, Omega, Iry & upper case.
We all play VO to have fun. Sure, there will always be fights in H2, maybe great ones but you CDC/Sigma annoying RPers & swarmspammers cant blame pirates if they find fighting your lame asses boring and just leave.

Actually last night there was fighting. It ended when the CLM pilot present complained of the ganking and declared his intent to hunt younger pilots in nation controlled space. Though I had not been engaged all evening, I decided to pursue. He had a head start when I docked to switch to a centurion, and I lost him around the Azek wormhole to Dau.

I personally do not understand the ganking complaints in the slightest. Being outnumbered is part of war. Sure swarms suck, I'd never use or defend those, but numerical superiority is the oldest and most basic way to win in the book, and it is here to stay.

I will say this: wake up CLM. If you have the audacity to claim Latos as your territory, realize that you will be outnumbered by the people who disagree, and they aren't going to 'wait in line' to get their shot at telling you so with neutrons. The very mention of the word 'war' means both sides should desire numerical superiority, and sure as hell not fuss at the other side for exploiting it.

ooc: Assuming we did have a beautiful little world where everyone waited for 1 on 1 fights, I would still insist on no one leaving to repair, due to someone's claim that it is a 'war.' So you'd get your one enemy at once, but with reduced armor for the second. Prove yourself 'really good' by winning more than one fight without dying, or sit down and shut up. Me, I'd have to shut up a lot probably, but that's how it goes. You wouldn't hear me whining my ass off about it. Mouthy damn civilians, the lot of you on both sides.

In a war situation its silly to complain about anything, ganked or not, I agree.
Just if its not fun and you get bored, you log off. Very simple.
After destroying 2 or 3 light fighters and being engaged in a combat with 4th at 8% hull, I cant say I enjoy getting killed by swarms shot at me from 600m away by some happy lamer yelling "Huzzah! i killed Splash!" so I say to myself: this is boring and I go away.

I agree with Aramarth. I never use swarms but don't think that they are necessarily out of bounds in a war situation. If I was CLM and hopelessly outnumbered, I'd do whatever I had to do to even it up, including swarming.

All this complaining about ganking is just silly. Does CLM really want everyone to line up neatly for 1 on 1 fights every night? That'd be very dumb, especially if your calling it a war.

Plus, if that was the agreed system, the surviving pilot should NOT be able to repair. Right now, the players endlessly whining about ganking are the same players who complain about getting killed after they finish a 1 on 1 fight before they had a chance to repair. It's a double standard. You can't have it both ways.

Wasn't your original beef with the trade guilds that they were using H2 for PvP? You didn't like that they were complaining when you interupted their duels? Now you want to come there during a war and demand 1 on 1 PvP fights? It doesn't make a bit of sense. If you want a 1 on 1 PvP match, PM me and we'll go to an empty sector.

Now I've talked to a lot of CLM pilots who understand this just fine, but a few seem to be delusional. Then they defend their misguided and warped moral sense by calling everyone "gankers". It's really childish and pathetic.

That being said, I refuse to participate in 5 on 1 fights (on the 5 side I mean). I've seen this on several occasions and it's rediculous. Sometimes people on the bigger team even bring swarms. It's just not fun for anyone.

If the pirates are only slightly outnumbered and are managing to hold their own, I have no problem "ganking" to push the balance back in the traders' favor, but I'm not going to add to the complete devistation of an already hopelessly outnumbered team.

I wish that less traders participated in this kind of overkill as well, but I will defend their right to do so. That is what war is. However, there are players on both sides of this conflict who have acted less than honorably. Remeber too that right and wrong is rarely ever cut and dry in RL, let alone in a game. Sometimes it's not always clear what the "right" thing to do is in VO.

Again, this is not in reference to every CLM pilot and trader. Plenty handled the situation fine. It's only a few who are confused. I'm not saying that any specific players are jerks or anything, just that sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the game and to get carried away. I just hope that everyone takes a step back every once in a while and remembers it's just a game.

I mean my biggest issue with a lot of players is that you take it too far. This is a game. The worst thing I'd ever say if I was unfairly ganked is "lol, you're on my list now!". It's a game! People are treating this more seriously than RL. Lighten up, and don't try to say it's RP, because it's easy to tell the difference. There is NO reason in the world anyone should talk the way I've seen some players talk on /100. People come here to have fun. I could get ganked over and over and still have fun, and if it stopped being fun, I'd say "bye, gf's" and log. It is not acceptable to curse or harass other players for ANY reason the way I've seen people doing it recently. Play the game, or don't play the game. Stop endlessly bickering. How is that fun for anyone? Grow up.

This is the part we find funny, its the ones that have us outnumbered that bring the swarms out, makes no sense, but we deal with what we deal with.

Some members of CLM complain about being ganked. Some members of CLM use swarms. The same is also true of some traders. Don't say it isn't true because it most certainly is, especially lately.

A little whining is OK, but this conflict has become a whine-fest of stellar proportions on both sides.

I've seen CLM members openly ganking people. They defend it by saying they do it because the traders ganked them first, but then the traders say they did it because the pirates did it first, etc... It's an endless cycle. If I had a credit for every time someone justified their actions by saying "we're just fighting fire with fire", on either side of this conflict, I'd be a very rich FatStrat.

Through it all I have to hear both sides endlessly spewing hate about the other team being honor-less gankers. That is what I have a problem with. Players who maybe even were once buddies ending up hating each other because of stupid name-calling and bickering over differences in opinion regarding the ethics of VO combat.
