Recently I reached 999 faction points with Corvus Prime. Hoever after several attempts to reach 1000 I found that I was somehow unable. I also have a friend who has the same problem with a different faction. I am a trader so all my attempts at raising my standing are done through trading. I have tried procurement missions, delivery missions, special delivery missions, and mineral missions. All to no avail. I was curiousif there was something else preventing me from getting that last point. Is it because Im UIT? or because its a bug?

At +999 you get only a small fraction of standing point for each mission (depending on the mission of course), so you need to do a lot of missions to reach +1000.

hows about an 8 jump bulk procurement mission?......personally i thought that would have done it

Are you guys tryin to tell me that it was made this way? If so for what reason? Honestly Iif thisis this the then Im gonna be a lil peeved. Lots of time and effort went into getting my standing that high and now I cant get POS. Thats pretty lame!

Also if this is the case does it apply merely to corvus or does it apply to all factions except the main ones?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the "new" missions ray is working on. becoming POS was meant to be an extremely difficult task requiring you to do something special. Probably that something special hasnt been added yet.

I have reached the point where my faction no longer even increases "slightly" no matter how long the mission is. (not even a 10 jump bulk procure, or a 13 jump bulk deliver helps anymore)

It might be possible that i cant pillar itani due to the fact that i have this little bounty on my head however... must try to pillar UIT and see if it will let me do that.

me wonders if someone like genka with levels could claim that bounty....

I've got POS in Itani and Serco, but those two are doable due to certain tricks. going from 999 to 1000 in any faction seems to be impossible, ask LQI who tries and tries and tries with UiT. I mean, after a week of doing everything that can be done (long proc, long deliver with trip back, long retrival, special transport, botting...) and nothing gives an note about any increase, something is wrong. today it's way too easy to get 999, but at the same time, it's too hard to get POS.

POS should be a journey, going to 999 should be a long part of just that journey.

I have no problem making +1000 hard to attain, but at least make it attainable! The current problem I see is that you can more easily get to +1000 from +850 than you can from +990 or higher.

I'm currently +999 Itani, and I recently took an 8 jump, 120cu procurement mission. I did not get that last point from it. It seems to me the only way to get +1000 is too lose some standing down to like +850 or so and then take the longest bulk procurement mission I can find and hope it gives me over 150 standing.

From what I hear, getting PSO +1000 takes a TON of work. One 12 jump bulk procuement isn't gonna cut it. You way have to do say, maybe 5 of thoese missions. Remember this is the highest possible place in soceity you can have. Although, from what I hear about it not even saying itani standing/serco/uit/whatever increased slightly, THAT is a bug.

If Solra and Spellcast say they made it with trade, then there is no bug. I have been at +999 for a few days and I still get slight increases for longer and bigger trade missions. In addition, the absence of a "slight increase" message might not mean there is no increase at all; it could be too small to be seen as slight... Be patient Mac :)
I guess there is a way to make shorter work of that last point - but I would not give it a try unless trading proves useless.

Genka, ctishman and I had a bit of fun today with standings...

As Genka has found out, if you lower all of your factions to Hate, your Corvus standing refuses to go under -600. We wondered what would happen if it were to somehow go beneath -600.

We found out.

ctishman lowered Genka's standing to -601, I killed Genka (woo, first PK) and Genka went into a long loop of

"You are not allowed to dock here."
"You are entering X System, Y Sector."

ctishman eventually caught Genka mid-loop and set his standing such that he could dock again. At least we now know why the -600 barrier is there...

Yeah, same prob here. I'm at +999 and after a while, the messages about "slight faction standing increase" have stopped all together. After 15 procurement missions with no notification about standing increase, and my faction standing steady at +999, I think there is something weird going on.

I have no problem that it should take a TON of work. If that's going to be the case, then you shouldn't be able to go from +850 directly to +1000 with one mission.

I've heard lots of people saying they've heard "from a friend of a friend" that it's possible to do that, but I don't think I've heard anyone say that they've actually done it. So, I'm not convinced that it's actually possible.

I've done 920 to 1000 in one go. just in case anyone wonders about that.

Ok. Just to update. I created another character. This one is Itani. I then promptly went and obtained 1000 and Pillar of Society simply by ...... well Ill keep my tactics a secret. Lets just say it wasnt hard. Tricky but not hard. Anyway now for yet another question. What do i get for POS?
