Put back the bots!

Jun 12, 2005 MechaDragonX link
Why did you take the bots out of the whole Deneb system? The Border Patrol mission is always in Deneb E-7, so yanking my favorite botting places was pointless. And even if you did move the mission around (as i was told it is supposed to be randomized), you don't have to put the BP mission in a bot infested sector, there are several hidden zones with roids in them that we could be directed to instead.

Now there are no station guards in Deneb, and the only bots that spawn in Deneb E-7 are Itani, which does my Itani character no good. How can I even complete this mission if I have no targets?

Further, I am not big on PvP or group play, but you don't have to screw my fun over to provide this content for others. In this case, you did with a vengance.

I normally go botting in Deneb when I get my free time to play because of it's assortment of the more difficult bots. In fact, I rarely leave Deneb at all. So basically, you knocked my house down and put in an empty lot. Thanks for that guys.

O.o, looks like you've got a strong opinion there.

You can blame me for this, I complained that the Hive bots were stealing my kills when I took the Border Patrol mission, making it annoyingly difficult. A1k0n has said (here: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/2/8351#122449 ) that the removal of the Hive bots is only "for the time being," so I don't think this is very permanent at all.

I'm pretty sure it is a bug if you're on the Border Patrol mission & no enemy bots are being spawned.

lol there arent any station guards? what about strike forces, do they spawn at the station still?

Guys, it's just a temporary thing. Relax. They decided to take some quick and temporary action because people were complaining about the lack of updates. And even though it's a minor hinderance it solves the problem for now.

Beolach: I had read other posts about, even experinced first hand, bots attacking the targets in the BP mission. (The BP mission is why I came to Deneb to begin with). But I was unaware that this was temporary. Thanks for that info.

who? me?: When I was on earlier, there was nothing to shoot at to make the Strike Force spawn.

Arolte: Temporary is good, but it didn't really need to be done at all. There were much more logical solutions, like expending the same resources to move the mission to an unused sector or the actual wormhole bordering serco and itani space. This was rather like dropping an atomic bomb to swat a pesky little nat.

EDIT: And yes, no Serco bots are spawning for me. When I go, only a lone Itani bot is whizzing around.

NO :)

Make the whole Deneb sectors as a BP patrol area. (not only at E7)

only NPC in centurion spawn in Deneb (instead of the hive bots)

So BP mission will be a good way to start/introduct the Itani/serco conflict and the PvP.

if you want to hunt hive bots do not go to Deneb (border serco/itani)

MechaDragonX, the devs did not decide one day to go hey, lets remove all the bots to annoy this guy. If serco bots aren't spawning for you and you have the border patrol mission, then it is a bug, not an intentionally thing. Bots were removed from the border patrol sectors so people couldn't just have them kill their targets for them.

Oops. I definitely didn't mean to remove the station defense bots. There are several designated BP mission sectors but it fills them in serially as more and more people use the mission. I'll keep those empty of Hive bots and put the rest back.

What if we move the "front" to the diagonal A8-H16 and put perpetual storms in there, and have the border patrol mission try to fill all of those out?

...or even try to advance the front in either direction?

I'm in favor of starting it at Dened B-12, then selectively thrust towards the Eo wormhole. When the path encounters hive bots, set a trigger to clear out that sector (bots jump out?) and cease the spawning for the duration.

Putting the first and main fight in Deneb B-12 might also put in a risk factor for the players using that border. A bit of careful cargo run placement could make trade across that border very lucrative and encourage players to risk becoming collateral damage.

The problem with taking it across the border into Serco space is that KoS:Serco players will have to contend with Strike Force as well as the target bots because of the station right there.

Strike Force do spawn properly in Deneb btw.

Have you thought about making Deneb a grey system and officially declaring it contested territory? It could easily be worked into a stroyline.

And Suicidal Lemming, I don't think Guild did it to personally annoy me. It just happens that it did so. ;)
