Mor Isil was having another busy day. He and TGFT liked it that way. Just one more stop, and then to Odia to make some preparations for the next Deneb Run.
As he docked at Marain Garden, Mor checked the time. A smile crossed his lips; he was ahead of schedule. A Helio Mist would be just the thing. With a spring in his step, Mor made his way into the bar.

"Thanks for hearing me out again Everson. I'm not sure who else would listen." The red-haired pirate queen ran her fingers through her hair before tipping back her drink.
"Listening or dogfighting, either way you aren't pirating anyone at the moment. And besides, you're easier on the eyes than other pirates." Vehement was about to take a swig of his own beverage when he froze, watching the doorway.
"Someone you know just walk in? This is my big chance!" Mystic fairly dove across the table to kiss the Viper. Her intended audience looked on in horror, swallowing her ploy whole.
"NOLAN! What are you DOING?!?" Mor screamed from a few strides inside the doorway.
Dammit... "She's just playing around Mor, it isn't-"
"I can't believe you! Didn't we just talk about your wife last night? How could you do this to her?" Mor seethed with rage. It was true, he and Nolan had just spent a few hours talking about Nolan's marriage the night before. Hadn't the man meant a word he said?
Vehement rose to his feet. Mystic by this point was grinning, unaware of just how serious a problem her joke had just created. "I have NEVER been disloyal to my wife. Unlike YOUR tramp of a fiance, who's been with half the galaxy before you!"
Mor clenched his teeth as he closed the remaining distance, speaking up to the taller Serco pilot. "That is the LAST time you talk about her that way you hear me?"
"Stuff it smurf. Not that I need to tell you to stuff her. How many times has it been today already?"
Mor lost his nerve and struck. Vehement was harder than he had expected. The Viper grabbed the Itani trader by the chest of his flight suit and began to drag him out of the bar. Mystic resisted the urge to clap or cheer. This wasn't her station, she reminded herself.
"Put me down you toaster sonofabitch!"
"Get your scrawny 'tani ass off this station before I space it!" Nolan hurled Mor with only mild effort across the docking bay toward his ship.
Landing lightly, Mor took stock of the situation. There would be a better place and time to discuss this. "We're acting a bit rash. I think you're right, let's talk later."
Vehement didn't flinch as he stared down his soon to be brother in law. "Yeah we could do with starting over." He was about to add more regarding how urgently the trader ought to depart, but Mor was already clamoring into his ship.

"You were wonderful, Everson. It is so much fun to have Serco guys around!"
Vehement gave her a warning look. "Hope you're happy, home-wrecker queen."
"That isn't fair, I didn't know who walked in!"
Vehement sighed. She had a point. "Well at least it was a nice kiss. You better get back to grey, TGFT might try to box you up in blue space."
"Until next time!" Mystic called as she hurried to her ship.
"What a day..." Vehement muttered.

Mor jumped his X-1 to a sector with known hive activity. He intended to blow off some steam. After a pair of easy kills, Mor took note of the increasing number of guardians entering the sector. "Great, more frustration. That is the last thing I need." The Valkyrie made a quick course reversal and headed out of the sector.
Mor Isil had just about cleared his head as he reached the wormhole to Edras. The next Deneb Run promised to be a good one. Besides, Nolan wouldn't really do that, right? He and his wife were... Mor's ship careened out of control as he exited the wormhole, struck by a pair of sunflare rockets. Scanning his instruments quickly, Mor realized what had happened as his comm crackled.
"I'll be taking some credits if you want to keep that ship of yours" MysticRogue ordered from 200m off Mor's 7 o'clock.
"Bad day to try pirate!" Mor was maneuvering before he finished speaking, easily escaping Mystic's second salvo. Then a third, and a fourth. Mor darted against her turn, finding a shot at the broad side of the pirate marauder. The Valkyrie's mismatched weapons sang a chaotic chorus as Mystic's vessel was torn to pieces. It exploded, sending shrapnel crashing into the victorious Itani vessel. The trader took a deep breath. Better to repair before making the rest of the trip. Jallik would be so much cheaper than Odia.

"Have a date with an asteroid?" Vehement's voice broke the silence of the X-1 cockpit as it arrived in Jallik.
"Your new mistress, actually. I'm surprised she's so willing to do your dirty work. Tell me, was it the red hair that made you act like such a fool?"
"You take that back."
"Face it, Nolan. You're an idiot."
"I didn't cheat on my wife. She is the only thing that means a damn to me, and fifty times the woman that either Mystic OR your bedtime toy ever will be."
"Frack your existence you rotten Serco-"
Energy weapons fire erupted between the two vessels as they seemed determined to ram one another. Vehement's Vulture evaded a good bit due to the ship's slim profile alone, but Mor's weakened Valkyrie wasn't so lucky. By the time the two ships collided, the X-1 no longer had enough structural integrity to survive it.

Jallik Watch's station guards couldn't believe their eyes. A Serco, a Viper, tearing an upstanding Itani hero in half?
"Somebody just lost their mind, moving to engage."
"On your wing, lead."
As the two Vultures sped toward the wormhole, the threat jumped without so much as a word. One more report to file... but hey, at least Jallik was safer than the Deneb border.

"Mr. Nolan "Vehement" Faux?"
Nolan looked away from his vessel's landing gear at the visitor. Itani military uniform. Didn't take them long... "Yes?"
"I'm here with some news regarding your incident in Jallik earlier."
"Well spit it out, I have pirates to defeat."
The man referred to a datapad in his hands. "Your license to travel in Itani space has been revoked. They were fairly lenient with the terms for your reentry apparently-"
"Wait, revoked? You people do know I am married right?"
"....Yes, about that. Marriage of Itani to Serco, by our laws, requires special paperwork. As your marriage papers were completed using a UIT identification, this was never done. The Itani consider your marriage null and void, and thus negated the usual consideration you would have received on the lady's account."
"Frack..."
"You may appeal of course..."
"I just spent a year learning your legal system. I know better."
"If I may ask..."
Vehement was by now focused on the ship again, and did not acknowledge.
"I mean, you're obviously not a typical Serco. And well educated, and a force for good. What led someone like you to shoot an ally, a hero of our people?"
"You're going to laugh. Isil and I had a disagreement about my wife."
"Girlfriend, sir" the Itani inserted efficiently.
"Oh get off our hangar deck."

It was getting late. Vehement began the usual debate that occupied his mind at this particular hour. Fly home to his wife, or stay in the barracks in Latos. Then it hit him like a ton of bricks. He didn't have a choice anymore. As this realization sunk in, he arrived at the Sedina wormhole to Latos. One of the radar contacts caught his interest.
"Quiet night, Mor?"
There was a longer pause than normal. "For a change, yes."
As the two pilots studied each other from across the sector, each struggled with the events of the day. Mor wondered if he could be wrong about Nolan cheating, and about sending Mystic after him. Vehement's frustration with all of Isil's insinuations melted away. Mor was young, drunk in love, and apt to say anything if he saw someone else 'squandering' the joy he knew for himself. After all, Vehement and Mor Isil had so much in common- and gone through so much as comrades in arms against those that threatened free trade. It was Vehement to first break the silence of their mutual meditation.
"We need to talk... can I buy you a drink?"
The trader considered a moment. "Let's have more than one. I have this nagging feeling that I might be more at fault for the end of your marriage than you."
"So you heard. Mystic's antics screwed us both pretty good. Does my-does Red know?"
"You'll have to make that call, Nolan."
"You're right. We'll need more than one."

On an out of character note, to participate in this RP, just be aware that for 'unknown reasons' Vehement is- very suddenly- no longer married. The details above wouldn't be public knowledge.
