The Structure Binding Device

After years of explorers traveling for months at relatively low in system speeds TPG send out a challenge to all Nuetral scientists.
The current engine technology could support higher speeds, but sadly all tests resulted in the engines over-vibrating and ripping the ships apart. If it were not for this, much higher speeds could be reached.
So a small team of neutral scientist started experimenting with a form of magnet, which would absorb the vibrations as the ships produced them. There were two problems with this device. First was that it took large amounts of energy, draining standard batterys in about half a minute. It also was rather unstable, so any other force on the ship would knock it offline.
It was dubbed the 'Structure Binding Device' and allowed pilots to move through the vastness of space four times faster.
The scientists have long been forgotten but the Structure Binding Device lives on, now being dubbed 'Turbo'.
