VO 1.8.457 includes:

- Fixed issues causing the game to freeze on the Oculus Rift and in Simulated VR Mode.
- Fixed bug causing classic DirectInput flight-sticks to be improperly recognized and configured as gamepads on Windows.
- DirectInput flight-stick buttons are now named by button number, instead of by gamepad-style concepts.
- Chord button combinations will no longer be bound by default for DirectInput joysticks. This should not impact most gamepads, which use Xinput instead of DirectInput.
- Added a new default control layout for the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick.

Hopefully some more joystick and other improvements coming soon, as we continue to clean up the PC version in advance of a Steam launch. Enjoy!

Yeah; you can see the game was greenlit a long time ago which you can see here. The devs want to polish some things in the game and are looking for a specific launch window, so all we can do is wait for now. Even so, you can always download the game without steam on your mobile devices or PCs, or continue playing over the Oculus Go as you have been [lucky, wish I had one].

We all await the day it gets released onto steam, but there is no specified release date, nor any roadmap we can look at - and if you check any of the old threads about this topic, Incarnate has explained why each time.

Since I'm new to the game so I may not know the history much but it would be great to get more new players may be from Steam.

I don't mean the dev will get richer but there will be so many player ships in the sectors which current rarely to be seen. Especially for low lv which need team mate for hard fight mission.

Steam has a big pop-and-drop pattern for launches. This leads to the phrase "you only have one chance to launch", which is somewhat common in the industry. In retrospect, of course I wish we had launched years ago; I didn't expect things to take nearly this long. But, we are working hard on the Steam launch. I keep mentioning it in the Newsposts, and I met in person with Valve, last week."
