Anouncing the Corporate Sectors Run! This is a more fast paced, shorter veersion of the Deneb Run through territory that the other race doesn't cover. It will occur every Friday at 9pm EDT. It begins in Helios D-14( I believe). It's the non serco station in Helios at any rate. Contestants start 3000m out and within 300m of me. Racers go through Ukari and then thruogh UIT space to Edras. Then the contestants go through grey space back to Helios D-14. First one docked in gets the prize (1 million crdits), 2nd gets 500k and 3rd gets 250k. No shooting before the race begins, but during it's all good.

As you can see, This ace covers every Corporate (ie money hungry =P) system but Azek.
The race begins NEXT Friday, not this week.

<Miharu> If you want bar service, you'll have to start in Odia M-14 :P

[ooc]Not to mention 9PM edt conflicts with Stargate Atlantis, Monk.

eeeeeedjut.

but they replay stargate at like 11, so it should be ok. plus if it's the friday after this one it should be a re-run anyway, as this friday is the season fanaly.

anyway,
we should encourage "obsticles" for the race so that it will be more exciting

I'll fire on all pilots to slow them down if i'm online.

(LordQ: He said stargate atlantis not stargate SG1.)
(Celkan: There is a 2 hour episode this week. Don't miss the 1st hour. And it will be played again at 11pm. Its not a re run though.)

OK Jestatis, I'll be sure to thumb my nose at you and wave as your swarms miss me.

Jes: ¬XY.

I was more emphasizing the fact that you don't get bar service if you don't start/finish in Odia M-14. Not the time conflict with SGA.
Sep 19, 2005 JestatisBess link
(Celkan: Cool but what does "¬XY" mean? And you should get tivo, where time doesn't matter!! :)

Coun't you just move your establishment tempoaraly to where the race was? You will get more bisness.

lol I started in Odia because the Deneb Run starts there. Wanted to start in a different place.

Methinks Jestatis needs to pay more attention to Celkan's posts.

and... I'm in if I can remember to show up. 8PM CDT. Got it.

OK! Race fans, In case you missed our impromptu test race of The Corporate Sectors Run, never fear! The rundown is here. (=P)

Our racers were:

iTripped, all around good itani, in a Warthog Mk2 with an FC Batt and no weapons

Millenium Blackhawk, member of the Viper guild, in an IDF Valkyrie with an FC Batt and no weapons

bloodthirst, a newcomer to the race circuit and VO, in a Vulture Mk3 with an FC Bat and 2x Positrons

Screwball, LT in the TGFT guild and moderator of the Deneb Run, in an IDF Valk with an FC Batt and no weapons

and finally ananzi, self-proclaimed ruler of Sedina B-8, in a Warthog Mk2 with and FC Batt, Proximity mines and a TPG Sparrow Blaster

And so the race began, 3000 meters out in Helios B-14. With a Yellow GO!, he racers took off. iTripped, after reviewing logs, had an ichy finger and took off first. bloodtirst took a beeline route, while the others plotted around the asteroid fields. This gave bloodthirst an early lead. By the time bloodthirst made it into Ukari, Screwball and iTripped were battling for 2nd by the wh in Halios. They were followed closely by Millenium and then ananzi.
This order continued as the fued for 2nd was heating up, as Millenium was closing the gap on the contenders. It was between the two whs in Ukari that bloodthirst probably hit a storm as Screwball overtook him and entered Arta Celestasis fist. iTripped slowly fell behind as Millenium gained making the 2nd place contention between them now as Screwball zoomed ahead into Dau. At this point, Millenium passes iTripped for the lead.
In the back of the pack, anazi was pulling into Dau as bloodthirst got stuck in yet another storm in Arta Celastsis. However, anazi gained a burst of speed in Nyrius and was ctaching up to Millenium, as iTripped regained 2nd from Millenium. Entering Verasi, it seemed that there was a 3-way tie for 2nd place as ananzi, Millenium and iTripped were neck and neck. Screwball still maintained a one jump lead, and would do so for the rest of the race.
Poor bloodthirst. To his dismay, it seemed that he hit every storm on the way, as he got stuck in another one in Nyrius. In the meantime, iTripped was attempting to catch up to Screwballas both were in Edras. And thus the racers had left te relative safety of UIT space and have now entered grey space, the pirates realm.
Somehwere along the way though, porbably due to faulty navigation cmputers (there had been a Bazaar at a Xang Xi station in Sedina, 75% of!), ananzi had passed iTripped for 2nd. Screwball continued into Pelatus.
And this is where many racers met there demise (racewise anyway) Apparentl, the storms beween the whs from Edras and to Bractus were many and violent. This allowed Millenium to pass ananzi, as did iTripped. bloodthirst reported in from Edras. Capitalizing on this, Screwball turned up the NOS and almost entered Odia before anyone had even entered Bractus!
Again, there seemed to be a 3-way tie for 2nd in Bractus between the same contenders, as Screwball pulled ahead even more and was waving hello as he passed by Miharu's Bar in Odia M-14, who graciously offered a week of free gargle blasters to the winner. Again, it seems what wouldve been a tie for 2nd was broken up by faulty nav computers and storms in Bractus, as iTripped entered Odia followed by Millenium. At this point, Screwball was at the wh to sedina.
Again, iTripped trying to win those free gargle blasters, was racing to the wh and catching up immensly to Screwball, as Screwball jump into Sedina with a narrowing lead. Millenium is close behind iTripped, followed by anazi by the wh from Bractus and bloodthirst had just entered Bractus.
But Screwball would slip clean of iTripped agin, as Millenium was slowly gaining on iTripped. Before he knew it, they were both in B-8 and running for thw wh. This neck and neck rivalry continued into Ukari, until which the order remained the same. And it was in the wh to Ukari that Millenium passed iTrpped for 2nd, who was closely followed by ananzi. bloothirst was in Sedina B-8.
AND SCREWBALL ENTERED HELIOS! Sensing victory, he put the pedal to the metal and ran for Helios B-14. And Screwball won, closely followed by Millenium and iTripped. anazi came in as a close 4th with bloodthirst trucking on for 5th. Note: bloodthirst did not quit and I commend him for that.

This was an unofficial race. The racers all put in money for a prize to the top 3 finishers. BUT their times will stand up as records until someon bteats them!

Screwball 17:12
Millenium Blackhawk 17:57
iTripped 18:15
ananzi 18:34
bloodthirst 22:58

The real race will be this Friday, and most Fridays afterward, at 8pm EDT for us Americans or about 12am Saturday GMT for you British folk. Screwball has the current record wih 17:12.

Also, the following races will be cosponsored by the Cerberes Defense Council and Inter-Galactic Peace Keepers guilds. 1 million credit first prize, 500k second prize and 250k third prize. Good luck! I hope to see many racers in Helios B-14 this Friday!

Thanks for running that test, Monk. I don't get to race in the Deneb Run now, so that was an enjoyable was to get in some good racing action.

Unfortunately for me, I won't be around to defend my record on Friday night, since that's a night I'm almost never available for Vendetta. Good luck to all the competitors in the upcoming race. I'm curious to see if my record holds, because I know there's some room for improvement.

you failed to realise that I am NOT itani, but rather UIT. Why would a greedy fool such as myself be an itani?

Sounds interesting, I'll try to make it on Friday!

Also, give us the ships moldy!

My mining re;ated events start at 8:30pm CT in Azek on Fridays. I hope this works to draw in a larger crowd rather than step on toes.

In my experience, If I started the War Event an hour after the Deneb Run, I would have three times as many participants. I hope the same works for you. ^^
