If I'm not mistaken, the people who left during the Arolte thingie left precisely because Guild was slow to act A9dn even then it was just one of the reasons for their departure, and many came back afterwards), and muting Arolte did affect him because he loved to brag about his griefing on 100; that's when he really felt the community's wrath, when has muted within moments of logging on. We didn't have to adapt to him, he was forced to quit when he wouldn't conform to us. So I don't know what they heck yer smoking, dergook.

It is not entirely the same no, still it accomplishes the same for some people. If you don't like being pirated, or if you don't like being the victim of lmined stations if it happens to you you still feel violated and wronged. The emotions that you will go through are the same. Just as hte person pirating has fun in the chase and the kill and the person laying the lmines has fun/pleasure in killing the people running into the lmined zone.

The only difference is that people are supposed to have a chance while being chased in contradiction to lmining where you don't stand a chance once you stumble into the lmine zone.

But like always, lmining a station is fun, pirating is fun as long as it occurs in a moderate measure.

And as a last time, I am in-game, if you don't believe that then ask any guide to check my account... it has some chars that are being played on a regular basis I just have been playing way less then i used to because of lack of interest (only so much you can do), i have other games i play as well (GW, morrowind, bg2, DS2, NFSMW, etc) and laslty i got my hands full as well with work and chores...

Perhaps just doing the following will help:

- Ask the devs to fix the LMine-inside-station bug.
- Hire VPR guards for the race start.

I'm not particularly bothered that he acts in a dishonourable manner, it's within his rights to do so (as long as he doesn't mind being universally resented, but that comes with the territory). The exploits, however, need to be fixed.

anyway, like I said : no more swarms for a week for me. so, I'd like you to pretend that I've never done anything wrong. so, kinda a fresh start and all that

....yeah...

BG... it's kinda easier to start over... when you make a new alt.

Sad... isn't it?
Feb 06, 2006 zamzx zik link
No. it isn't easier, I hate leveling up, it took around a year to get to 10/9/9/10/6

What about the station mining zam?

To quote you sir: "No. it isn't easier, I hate leveling up, it took around a year to get to 10/9/9/10/6"

I understand that. I've never even seen the cockpit of a prom cause I don't have those levels yet. I'm sure it'd be nice to have the option of jumping into one if I wanted though.

However, I think this shows one of the reasons that you and some others of us can't see eye to eye very well. What do big license numbers get you?

The ships and equipment I use most right now were generally available to me at license 5 or 6 across the board (sooner through Corvus). One of the best things about VO is that licenses do not have any direct effect on combat. It doesn't matter if you are 20/20/20/-/- or 5/5/5/-/-, the lower license person could use a less well-equpped ship to beat the higher license person because licenses are only good for getting access to new types of equipment and bragging rights.

If you'd rather the outcome of battles be based on your licenses, I've heard there's a really pretty screen saver out there called EVE that you might want to try--combat works that way in it.

If you're out to be the best in VO, spamming or killing a million bots isn't the way to go. The people I see as the best are those like spuck who killed me with a just plasma devistator (or something) the other day. He was amazing. If you want to be the best, don't worry so much about levels and get good at fighting. I'd have a ton of respect for anyone who had a ton of licenses on one alt, but used a new alt with less access to good equipment to kill me.

There is an unintended side-effect to the implementation of the No Fire Zone, the Strike Force, the Station Guards and the need for Corvus to remain a "spawn location of last resort".

It boils down to the fact that the Station Guards and the Strike Force are not able to counter LMines near a station.

It has been deemed an exploit to LMine a Corvus station and zam has agreed to no longer do it.

Whistler, what RelayeR just said ( I never even thought about it that way..see? I didn't think) and to make it even clearer FOR THIS WEEK I SHALL NOT BE DOING ANYTHING YOU GUYS DONT LIKE

Stuff I don't like:

Eating broccoli
Having an outdated computer
Paying taxes

If you so much as look at a 1040a, Pentium III or broccoli floret, your ass is banned.

zamzx zik » ...and I do stop when asked (Miharu did it three times, before she started abusing it; asking me to simply not talk at all in vendetta pretty much)

One part of being an adult is being able to discern sincerity from sarcasm. I do recall saying such a thing to you, but I didn't honestly think you would do it—the sole reason I suggested it.

To be fair, the first thing I asked you not to do was speak to me. You've failed miserably at that, which is one reason I doubt your "word" as you put it. Your word is as good as pyrite—fool's gold. Only an idiot would take it for something worthwhie.

Hehe... a broccoli banning... that kills me. :)~

[slightly off topic]

To clarify a comment made by "krazyivan" earlier: VPR is all about advertising their desire to be paid for pirate hunting.

That statement is simply false. Our Charter is well published, and easily available. Maybe this is a "nit"... but no mention of payment for services is contained therein.

http://www.viperguild.com/wiki/index.php?title=Current_Charter and http://www.viperguild.com/cgi/simpleforum_pro.cgi?fid=12&topic_id=1132454438

We have accepted "gratuities" in the past... and they were appreciated. However, we generate our own funds (quite nicely) and payment for services is simply not required.

[/slightly off topic]

As for BG... you ask for what is "not liked" so that you may change your ways... well, it's been said all along. You chose then not to hear... and therefore you must understand that it ill becomes any of us to continue to repeat what has already been said.

My two creds would be that actions speak louder than words. And if you truly want to change... it'll take more than a week of modified behavior... If history serves, you've got a long road ahead of you.

Heh, good luck with that Zam, but its not going to be easy, there was a time I tried to give up piracy, hell, I even took up mining, I was still hunted and shot like a dog whenever certain players who wanted revenge/to avenge someone saw me. I'd say "But im a miner now, for **** sake!* they say something along the lines of *once a prat, always a prat!* Yeah, I had no guns and stuff, but im still a pirate >.> and well, mining got boring fast, so, well, we all know the rest :D

you still aren't listening leapfrog, this topic is exactly for that reason; you post stuff here so I can remember it easier.

and yoda, I didn't know you were a minor ;)

it shouldn't be hard.
I'll be racing in the deneb run, btw....

@leapfrog/Seta,

Thanks for the clarification. You vipers sound like a good bunch. Not charging makes you all the more honorable, and I think I'd be glad to offer my gratuity if I were in a position to call upon your services. I'll see you out there.

Zamzx....saying you won't do these things FOR ONE WEEK ONLY doesn't exactly fly in terms of redeming yourself. You've been a pain in the arse for longer than that, with your tactics, and as Seta said, you've got a long road ahead of you to redeming yourself.
