Thanks to all who participated in this impromptu test/official event. It was tons of fun, even though Mecha's gauss ate my Valk in the first minute. Here's the synopsis:

UIT
Stranger (Leader)
Ecka Estenk
ed_wong_hau
Envill
Rugazi
auouymous
Mark McDooglei
Paradox

Serco
Mike-L(Leader)
F3ar0n
Harry Tuttle
BUNNY
Mecha Touriuas
Roksx
Shedu

Itani
_Ghost_(Leader)
?
Blue Streak
Dasian Oshol
Joe Beleu
Kioal Darkblade
Niki

The Itani won this week, breaking the unbeaten UIT's winning streak! All the Itani took damage, with myself destroyed and Joe Beleu as well. Seemed the UIT and Serco forces both attempted to squish the Itani, but they came out on tope, focusing all their fighters on one or two targets at a time. Thanks to _Ghost_ for his superb tactical leadership.

Post your experiences in this event, since I only got 1/3rd of it. Also, look for the official rules here.

RULES:

1) As far as ships and weapons go, only two weapons are banned: Chaos Sawrm Missiles and Locust Swarm Missiles. This is done to recognize the "beep effect" in combat, ie scaring your opponent with all the target lockon alerts.

2) No running for obcene distances. This is subjective, but honestly,, I'll call it if you go out beyond 3,000 meters of anyone. This rule is flexible and bendable, but do not abuse it.

3) Once youy are dead, you are out. You may return to watch, but must announce this over sector comm.

4) Once you leave the sector you are out. This means no repairing at a station, no reloading and no jumping out to jump back in when your team wins.

5) The prize is two million credits, split among the qualifying survivors ONLY! If you have broken a rule above but have survived, don't expect to get credits.

6) The Nation War Event takes place in Sedina B-8 at the time of 11pm GMT on Sundays between three teams, each team representing a nation.

7) Team leaders are participants in the event, who represent their team when I speak to them. I expect them to be honest.

8) Things may change due to unavoidable circumstances. Always follow the instructions of Blue Streak or Erik C. , whichever one of my alts run the event (Usually the former)

Okie dokie. Rules will be changed as necessary. And, oh, always have fun. :)

Was spelling Nation really that challenging for you?
Feb 12, 2006 MSKanaka link
When typing really fast, the "o" in nation has a nasty habit of being dropped, much like "the" becomes "teh" and "becomes" becomes "beocmes".

Niki was playing, is there any doubt as to why the Itani won? I remember Niki also winning it for his team on that Maud vs. I-forget thing, and he also winning the first Last Man Standing, and so on and so forth...

Which is why I ran away from niki when he showed up on IRC.

To win this even, you have to have an experienced pvp team, and a plan. UIT had no plan this battle, which in past battles they have had. Props to _Ghost_ for rallying the team together and making strategic hits. He tagged my repair boat in the first 30 sec of the battle =(

McDoogle, why the HELL were YOU the one in a repair boat? Out of all those UIT folks, they chose YOU to be the repairdrone?

Great move by Stranger, then, heh.

I'll try to make the next Natin war. It's always fun warring with natins.

So, are all you colorists going to stop me from helping the Serco in the next one of these?

You can join the Serco. I'll just have to make sure all the Itani know before the event starts.

Leber, the only reason I was in charge of the UIT group was because someone had to make the /group and get things rolling. I just grabbed the situation and ran with it. I am not an experianced PvPer and have never said that I was one. But someone had to jump up and lead and no one else was. I've actually never team pvped before this event and never thought about the stratagy of using a repairship. There are many things that I need to learn.

More fights like the one last night in B-8 should help with team tactics.

Perhaps I'll join one of these after you learn how to spell 'Nation'

Oh calm down, Stranger, it was just funny to me that the person that I would name as the best PvP'er on the yellow side was relegated to repair duty.

Matters not. All in good fun! Cyas all soon!

So... When's the next one? Soon, I hope...

I think Mark's biggest problem was that we didn't know he was on repair duty. He was assumed to be the most dangerous target, scheduled for immediate termination upon contact. Strategically, I would put the weakest player in the repair boat. Not because he is not much help for the offense, but because he won't be wipped out as first order of business.

Read the rules again calder. REEEEEEEEEEEEAL careful-like... It's in there, I promise
