hey vo just thought id let u all know that [EMS] is still out there and willing to help. if u need an [EMS] to help u put out an emergency call onn ch 911. we will be monitoring the channel wheneva we r online. [EMS] look us up we're affordable.
Hey, [VPR]'s had good interactions with you. Keep it up with the repair guns.
as with VPR i think EMS should get regular donations when possible.
especially when dregs like k'metreq are firing on them even though they are unarmed.

They're repairing the guys who are armed. Of course you shoot them.

When they're sitting around in B8, they repair ships damaged by dueling, only after the duel is concluded. This service harms nobody and is not cause to shoot them.
k'metreq is a griefer who interrupts duels, swarms and runs and trolls on 100. He will shoot at anybody, just to annoy them - he rarely sticks around to score a kill, despite having the skill to do so.
It is, of course reasonable to fire on EMS pilots who are aiding enemies in a group battle situation. VPR does this, and I suspect anyone else would do the same.

[EMS] is now considering a new policy, which we are announcing now and then potentially adding within the next week. Feedback is supported, we want to know how you view this change.
_______________________________________________________________________________
[EMS] will now allow people to 'buy' our medics out of a contract, only under the following criteria and at the medic's discretion:
1. The payment must be a minimum of 1.5x the payment the original contract
2. The person(s) desiring a contract must strictly be currently acting against the person(s) currently contracting the medic
Should the medic be offered this new contract, he will alert the person(s) currently contracting him, and consequently the medic can negotiate the exchange or an offer from the current group overriding the people wishing to buy out the contract.

Once again, feedback on this new addition would be highly appreciated.

There is no use in hiring a mercenary if they can be bought over to the other side at a whim.
The one reason for this is to allow equal opportunity to hire us... (and we're not mercenaries, we're medics, that's an important distinction)
Here's an ideal example:
Say a couple pirates decide to run a pirate blockade, and they contract a medic. VPR quickly comes on the scene to find us already hired.
Tell me... how exactly was VPR to know that they'd be in that situation? How do they get an equal opportunity to hire us?
The 1.5x idea will make sure that the other side will also get an opportunity to hire us, but so that it's not too easy the price increases every time, until the demand is high enough that any potential argument over the medic ends and both sides have gotten the chance to have one of us backing them up.

I agree with LD...
Btw, this k'metreq guy sounds like the new DoR.
At least DoR had some boundaries.

Vipers are not currently permitted to hire or contract [EMS] in any situation.
The new policy has been added to [EMS], we will now allow people to offer the opposing contract for a raised price. It is based on the current payment of the contract the medic is in, so you should pay medics however much you think they are worth to you/your group.
There was some debate within VPR about whether it should be permitted to contract EMS. Now there isn't; we will not get in a bidding war with pirates.
Thanks for resolving that for us.

I hope that smug sense of moral superiority can double as extra hull plate.
However:

In that situation, the simplest thing to do is kill the medic and then attack your foe. The idea that [VPR] and the pirates will have an eBay auction for the [EMS] pilot before getting down to business is silly.

I agree with the pirates sorry. I will not attack an EMS unless they have weapons. But the pirates are right as soon as they become non neutral or have weapons they are a viable target.
Don't be sorry... I agree with the pirates too. Often enough, the wisest course of action is simply to go for the medic first... much as it may be annoying, it is justified.
I can also understand why a 'bidding war' is an ugly idea... however, if you can come up with a better solution, [EMS] would appreciate it.

Look, pirates don't work with outsiders. Just recind your whole "people can buy us out" thing, and go work with [TGFT] and [VPR] like the goody goodies you guys are. You're not going to be a guild of "mercs with repair guns"--just give up and resign yourself to being [VPR] assistants. They'll pay you and such.
Lord knows they need all the help they can get.

Ahh, Lecter. Your words are like poetry, as always. When are you going to get back in-game so I can boom you over and over?
Strat, as I recall, I used to use you for both flare and gauss bait. And you haven't improved that much--I have been watching. That neut/phase on a tin can combo you love so much is still weak sauce in your n00bish hands :)
Any time, champ. I'm still waiting. I have to doubt that you've been watching because I haven't used that setup in almost two years. Anyone else here can tell you exactly what I fly. Get your sorry ass in-game! Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread, [EMS].
