Damn Yoda, you aim worse than I do.

I'm happy. :D

Well for those of us who does not need Viagra we avoid nation war due to other reasons. Namely due to the first post in this thread, petty, childish, immature, pointless, finger pointing, closed door standards, etc.. shall I go on? This is also the same reasons I do not engage in what many call 'pvp'

This is not a normal message that I would be responding to but I thought nation war was history and no more so why is it still being fed life support when clearly it's dead? It's well past time to pull the plug on this one. As one famous character said, 'its dead jim'
Jul 13, 2009 peytros link
the reason nation war is dying is due to some players inabillity to move on from past events. if you really care about this player run event so much you can stop talking about who should and should not be banned and just join the nation war.

otherwise people can continue to not show up and allegations will still fly but all that is doing is proving you are only going to play the game when people follow your rules and things are run your way.

Well, I don't know much about all the controversy and bickering regarding this event that you veteran players seem to find so important to the game. But I do know that I had no idea there was a Nation War fought yesterday, and despite my lack of skill I would certainly have come to participate, and maybe even put up a million of my own to contribute to the prize.

Anyway, I'm just saying that a little more advance notice in-game would be helpful for newcomers like myself, who might participate but aren't aware of the time and place.

I propose a 5th team for Nation War making the roster as follows:
Itani
Serco
UIT
Grey
No-Peytros (kinda like "No Homers" in that one Simpsons episode)

Since they don't want Peytros to participate, they can spend their time in NW removing him from play and attempt to wreak their vengeance upon him.

Somehow, I think he'd be fine with the idea.

Can I get a second?

As for CLM's NW contribution, Yoda took it. :P

Nice try, but I robbed CLM, not TGFT, so how did I steal the money that was given to TGFT? Not that I care about it, as far as I am concerned (and probably Mystic, but I don't speak for her) it was money well spent, and *has* problably been used up anyway, so ner ner.
Jul 13, 2009 FistOfRage link
When it comes to a choice between your way and mine Peytros, I'll choose mine every time.

I'm sorry Yoda. Force of habit to blame you :P
Jul 13, 2009 Pointsman link
lol, divisionbyzero.

Given that there has been no CLM contribution listed in recent NWs, I assume it was spent. I Don't know why Ecka or Surbius haven't given a simple affirmation of this, though..

But, anyway, I appreciate all the comments on how to re-popularize the event. Admonishing an entire guild was indeed unhelpful and unfair, even if I get pretty fed up with the sort of negativity and untruths we have seen come from TGFT's two lieutenants.

Surbius: There is nothing wrong with asking the community for permission to host. I'm sorry if by not begging you for the role I caused offense. I didn't help peytros disrupt any NW. In fact, the one time he tried to disrupt an event I was participating in, I told him to piss off. And I wouldn't hold an uncharitable characterization of your absence if you hadn't chosen to badmouth the event on 100...

I'll work on promotion and hopefully future generations will be able to enjoy this weekly tournament as much as I have.
Jul 13, 2009 Surbius link
Asking and begging are two different actions. To ask is of common courtesy regardless of the manner in which it is asked but calls upon the questioned party to answer. You could have been venomous in your question of wanting to host and I would still give a positive answer to the question. However, you chose another route to get what you want.

About the CLM NW donation, last I recall of a donation on behalf of CLM to Ecka or I was about 2 years ago in a sum as high as 100mil and more than 100 NWs have came and went since then.

I'm not taking sides but...

Blah arg grrrr boycott whine bitch moan... grrrrr argh TGFT errr um blar yadda host yadda blarg Peytros yarrr eeeeeep!!! nation war garble gah wah!!! bitch and complain grrrr Surbius elections... ARG BLAME GRRR stuff, sigh grrr AGRG yarrr!!!

There... my 2 cents in a format keeping with most of this damned thread.
Jul 13, 2009 Pointsman link
I wasn't going to request from you what you could not rightfully give. I didn't want just to host but to significantly change NW policy. Only the community could assent to that.
Jul 13, 2009 moldyman link
Whine whine whine whine...

It is what it is. He runs the event now, so there. That also means he needs to promote it, fund it, run it and do cleanup.

Even if TGFT doesn't feel like turning over past funding, this is an event that started from scratch being funded by one player. Then a few players. Then some guilds got involved. If it's started from scratch before, it can start again.

All the petty bickering is just plain annoying and doesn't get anything done.

I completely agree with Ryan and I think the constant bickering within this game has reached unnecessary proportions. For a game that boasts 25-60 people on at a given time, you people sure do whine, bitch, argue, complain, and moan a lot. I'm not singling anyone out in particular so don't even start complaining at me because, frankly I do not care. If you have a problem with me I would far prefer you to actually attack me or hunt me in game than to continue to bicker outside of the game. The game needs more action, we all can agree on that, complaint forum.. i mean RP forum does not help that...

Anyways, I can see both sides of the issue. On one hand, you have Maalik who has taken it upon himself to try to broker a steady truce in a way in order to keep the NW going (since peytros clearly hates TGFT) but on the other hand Ecka and TGFT have basically been the lifeblood of the Nation war for the past couple of years and has poured countless millions into the funding for it.

From what I can gather you both seem right. The funniest thing about this is people are squabbling over funding when money is ridiculously abundant in this game. How petty and silly of all of you. What to do?

Well, I personally am tired of the squabbling, whining, complaining, that has occurred in this game. Quite frankly, it's killing it.

Maalik, if you ever need funding, i'll gladly give money to support the nation war. Although im rarely in attendance, I try to make it when I can. I'm sure the rest of PA would gladly agree to help fund it as well.

Before I go any further into this I would first like to thank Ecka for hosting it all these years. You have truly done the game a service and I personally commend you (for what it is worth i suppose) for putting up with all the bullshit and giving up all that time. I would also like to thank Maalik for keeping the NW going in the absence of Ecka's hosting. You both have been amazing.

Lastly, I would like to turn all of your attention to the real problem in this whole situation. This game lacks active GM's and if there were some active GM's ingame at the time of nation war they would be able to protect this cherished event from those who seek to destroy it, just to destroy it. I do not blame TGFT, or Maalik, or the pirates, or anyone ingame. I blame the devs for letting this game go SO damn long without established GM's patrolling the game.

If there were some active GM's we could not only cut down on the bullshit on 100, but someone finally could do something when someone actually does something wrong, something that violates the TOS (not saying anyone did just saying okay?) or anything else. Not only would this create a better community but it could alleviate some of this unnecessary drama and possibly get some people back to playing the game like they should be.

So Incarnate, A1kon, Mom, time to get a couple new GM's inline because the old ones are either gone or not online ever (yes including you Obsidian and yes i did say that). No matter how many texture redo's or economic alterations, the game is going to remain in the crapper if there isn't some sort of active GM. ALMOST EVERY ONLINE GAME HAS ACTIVE GMS. Even the text based ones. So PLEASE, for the sake of this game and all your hard work and all of everyone who has played it and worked hard in it.

Assign some GM's

Call me whatever you want, but if you have a problem, then feel free to shoot me ingame. Otherwise, peace out.

uh i think having gms keep people from doing whatever they want in an OPEN PVP ZONE is a little ridiculous even if NW is such a cherished event. it's player run and player interference or not a gm punishing people for attacking a group of people in an open pvp zone is a bitch rediculous regardless of how long they have been meeting up to shoot at eachother for 20 minutes every sunday and wednseday.

although the crap on 100 i can see having a gm for.

Can I say? I really want to say it. It needs to be said!

Vendetta Online SUCKS... for content. Most people run out of interest within a month of trying it for the first time. Population is low. And the fact that getting kills or credits amounts to nothing more than grinding for a medal makes it a twitch based cookie cutter as far as immersion goes.

Most player run events, much like some Dev-created events such as CTC, are a cruddy but necessary TEMPORARY addition to the game. They try to grab a small percentage of the small number of players on at prime times and engage them in something *GASP* FUN . And non-repetitive, nor boring. It tries to create interest in a wide open empty world of nothing. And you know what, that is important. Important enough to be protected when the community shows an interest.

Moral of the story: Community enjoyment and success of game > Self-righteous players and strict adherence to "game mechanics".
Jul 14, 2009 peytros link
you are trying to say nation war isn't repetitive? Something that occurs at the same time every week and has no effect on the game what so ever?

hm and here I thought it was self-righteous to demand people ignore game mechanics and play how you think is "best for the game"

i'll say it again if you want to run around in grey do it by your own gun.
Jul 14, 2009 Darkmane link
I'll second DivisionByZero's motion.

All the moaning and whining is getting boring. Sort it out by having a big rammy, Nation War style then move on.

Um, no. You play in Grey--really, anywhere in VO--you play my way. Or Pey's way. Or your own way. Or whateverthefuckway you like.

But you don't get to decide how other people play with you while you're there. Run, hide, fight back--I don't care.

You don't get magic shields/rules for your own little thing. Period.
Jul 14, 2009 moldyman link
Really? And you have another suggestion for where everyone can gather to fight? Wait, there is no such place EXCEPT for gray space, which was meant to allow everyone to mingle, regardless of standing.

If this were held in a heavily trafficked spot, or intentionally done to disrupt whatever was going on, I'd see your point. But the people crying "it's grey space and I'll cry if I want to" have nothing but a vindictive self righteous excuse: Because it is gray, it must be dangerous, and thus it must have danger, with people swooping in to kill anything and everything. Just because it's dangerous fo realz.

But I'm on the wrong side of the fence on this. The Devs have clearly stated time and again this is what they want. So it's play it the way it is or GTFO, no room for change.

Good thing I got the fuck out.

I'm glad you included the last sentence, so I have something to agree with you on.
