bojan: Sadly, I do not expect anyone to follow rules about NAPs. I have posted above that I will simply not fight on any team that has a NAP in the future. I encourage others to follow suit.

As for the running around, I also see no good way of fixing it right now. The valk is an excellent combat/chaser/escape ship, uncatchable by anything, and that is one of its main draws. As I said, I fully respect the hit and run tactics. What I am talking about is the literal several minute chases, usually at the end of the War (in the middle we don't have the time or leisure to chase that long :P), where spidey is the last Itani left and he runs around until someone lands a lucky shot.

Let me say this again. Hit and run is fine. Hell, hit and run is great, if you can take someone down a bunch of hitpoints, get a bit of distance, and then have them forget about you until you do it again. Every group has probably at one point or another tried to capitalize on the inattention of the other groups to either take a breather or ambush them. That's wonderful. When the war devolves into several minute long chases, we have a problem, one that is fun for nobody but the ninnies.

drazed, I'm pretty sure that there was only one of us in a Valk. Maybe two, but that's it.

If you consider this a cheap or dishonorable tactic so be it, I consider it a valid strategic tactic!

Sweet. We'll all show up in X-1s, too, and we can all run around in a gigantic circle jerk.

What a silly thread. I'm going to parrot myself and say that 4 teams are better than 3. Yeah!

Leave it to a lawyer to put stuff out of context. Let me duplicate that entire paragraph, as the statement about type of tactic was a summary of what I had said IN that paragraph, and not a summery of this thread:

"As for the comments about me running around and not taking a shot at anyone for 5 minutes? Yeah, I was running around for a good bit of the fighting, mostly because I was trying to CHASE down the pirates that were running around in Valks (eg. peytros). Additionally, my initial strategy was to bolt towards the grey team and then bolt towards the serco team (hopefully with grey's following me), in hopes of getting them to start firing on each other first thing in the war (this took far less then 5 minutes, more like 40 seconds, and I started firing on grey's as soon as I got in range of the serco group). If you consider this a cheap or dishonorable tactic so be it, I consider it a valid strategic tactic!"

I was stating that I was NOT running around in a circle-jerk, and that I considered a 30 second boost from grey group to serco group to be a valid tactic. And the itani team had a fair chunk of non-valk ships as well (IBG's and hornets and such). Don't use my comments (out of context) to make ridiculous claims to reinforce whatever tactics you use in the future.

EDIT: lecter: if drazed jumped off a bridge would you follow? :D

Only because you haven't been one of the surviving members of a group tasked with chasing down spidey, BT. There is nothing at all funny about that.

:P
