Nation Wars #429
Vendetta-OnAir (VOA), is proud to bring you Nation Wars #429 this January 10th.
*** The TIME will be 22:00 ***
All citizens are welcome to participate, there is no entrance fee, exact Prize Amount is to be determined and depends on donations (Will be at least 10 Million Credits!). Some of it could be yours!
The Basic Rules are as follows:
1.) Only those who are on-time are allowed to participate.
2.) Participants must be on their nation's team unless they are a pirate or hated with their home faction, in which case they may choose to fight for Grey if Grey team is allowed that week.
4.) You may not start fighting until the host signals the start of the battle - this includes the 15 minute period prior to the planned starting time.
6.) You may not return to the battle sector after you have left except to observe from a healthy distance in an EC-88 or EC-89.
7.) No running from the asteroid field.
9.) The last team standing wins.
This week all ships and Grey Team is allowed.

Thanks to GTE for their donations, bringing the current Prize Pot to 30,000,000 credits.
Just out of curiosity, why only pirates/hated in the grey team? There's a good few pilots who barely leave grey and are neither pirates nor hated.
With the current state of the game a lot of nationalist spend most of their time in grey, they just play their role as nationalist.
In truth, it would be nice if there was a way that the neutral traders that don't want to align to a nation could have a nationless faction, but we have been talking about that for a long time. Another thought is how many of these neutral traders would actually align to UIT if it offered trading bonuses that Serco or Itani wouldn't have, after all UIT is the Union of Independent Territories, previously known as the NT (Neutral Territories).
In the end, Nation wars is exactly that, Nation Wars. It isn't Guild wars, or Itani Nationalist vs Serco Nationalist vs UIT stray vs Neutral Traders and Pirates who are cooperating for 15 min. There has to be something in the event that attempts to keep it somewhat balanced, like not allowing Proms or Valks occasionally or Grey team at all occasionally. And this rule as is simple enough to understand and accomplish that.
And it's not something that has popped up overnight, this is a debate that has gone on for almost a decade:
9 - moldyman - no grey, but could join another nation if you were hated by your own nation but liked by another
82 - davejohn - no grey at all
224 - Maalik - just had to claim to be unaligned to fight for grey
231 - Lord~spidey - had to be below 599 standing with all three nations to join grey
366 - Phaserlight - no grey at all
404 - Sieger - Had to be home KOS to be on Grey
In truth, it would be nice if there was a way that the neutral traders that don't want to align to a nation could have a nationless faction, but we have been talking about that for a long time. I will be in GREY team no matter if it is allowed or not the few times I make it to an NW. I like you Lazy, but I would hate to disrupt NW because you don't recognize a growing playerbase that identifies as Greyspace pilots. I won't fight for Itani or Serco. And I'm not hated by Itani. So be sure I will be fighting for Grey
Unless I am mistaken jordanmorgan14f is Voidance/Galanoth, who is a pirate, so being on Grey would not be a problem.
Grey team is set to be those who are either pirates, or hated by their home faction, I would consider any pilot of VOID or FAMY or any other Pirate guild to be eligible by default.
So if you could just not participate the one NW per month when there is no grey team instead of disrupting the event I never see it being an issue.

Great turnout and a fun fight. Me and Xeha were greatly outnumbered so the hit and run strategy was in full effect. I was worried I would be a large target since I went ahead and brought a UDV. In the end I got a few kills and had a lot of fun so even though we lost the important things were taken care of.
The Prize Pot for the event consisted of 42,250,000 credits, thanks goes to GTE, PPT, and SB for their donations. This allowed the victors to receive 7,041,666 credits each.
