Vendetta-OnAir (VOA), is proud to bring you Nation Wars #433 this February 7th.

*** The TIME will be 22:00 /time in game ***

All citizens are welcome to participate, there is no entrance fee, exact Prize Amount is to be determined and depends on donations (Will be at least 10 Million Credits!). Some of it could be yours!

The Basic Rules are as follows:

1.) Only those who are on-time are allowed to participate.
2.) Participants must be on their nation's team unless they can make a claim to be unaligned in which case they may choose to fight for Grey if Grey team is allowed that week.
3.) Only one Trident will be allowed per team, and the Trident Pilot may not undock during the battle,
4.) You may not start fighting until the host signals the start of the battle - this includes the 15 minute period prior to the planned starting time.
5.) You may not return to the battle sector after you have left except to observe from a healthy distance in an EC-88 or EC-89.
6.) No running from the asteroid field.
7.) The last team standing wins.

This week all ships and Grey team is allowed.

Any guild or player is welcome to donate to the prize pot, and by doing so will earn mention during the event and in the results.

the Trident Pilot may not undock during the battle.

Lol just go back to the old rules. This is not something you can police. It's part of the joy of being a trident owner.

How come only [ONE] trident(s) allowed at this nation war? Dontcha think that's a little unfair to everyone else LaZy?

Funny how the rules didn't change after Sieger brought his, but when ONE bring theirs out we gotta have a rules change now? No bias there.

We all understand it's difficult for ONE to bring out a single Trident, opting instead for a "Late Night in Latos With No Enemies"-style, all-or-nothing 5 Trident approach.

Lazy, I would suggest disqualifying the entire team if the trident pilot violates the undocking rule.

I agree that telling a trident pilot he can't exit will be hard to monitor.

Have tridents allowed once a month on a predictable schedule, actually why not require a trident on that day to have a team.

Before the latest NW (#432) I raised a question about instating rule for tridents participating in NW like we had for a long time before.
We even opened a discussion about it and I proposed we stick to the old rule - 1 player, 1 ship.

Lazy said that #432 will go by the rules as posted and that he will think about changing the rules for the future NWs.

Lazy is, after all, a host and it's his prerogative to set the rules of the event he is hosting.
You can decide to either play by the event rules or abstain from participating.

Nobody is forcing you to play in NW, if you want to have trident wars - go make your event and set your own rules.

P.S. Ore, policing this rule is easy.
Sector enter/leave messages (TCS, etc.) will alert anyone if trident owner left his dent or not

From my understanding these actually are the old rules, and made sense to me, so I put them back in place. All I can do is watch the sector enter leave events and targetless, but with only one trident on each team hopefully it won't be too difficult to do.

Nice [ONE]

Funny how the rules didn't change after Sieger brought his, but when ONE bring theirs out we gotta have a rules change now? No bias there.

After #431 (When Sieger won) there was discussion about tridents and such, but I typically make all the events for the month at the beginning of the month. I actually sit down, look at a calendar, and figure out what is possible for me to do by myself, and plan it out. So the whole event calendar is already full of what I am planning for February. Since #432 (last weeks) was already on the calendar with the rules listed I did not want to change anything unless I absolutely felt it was necessary. So we had #432, Serco had 5 dents, and even though I lost I had a great time at the event.
Then while planning the events for this month, decided to add back in the old standing rule for tridents, and actually ban tridents once per month when Valks and Proms are also banned.

If you want to see the calendar it is always available in the event list as you log into the game, or my personal copy available publicly via Google Calendar

Lazy, I would suggest disqualifying the entire team if the trident pilot violates the undocking rule.

I really just hope it doesn't come to me having to do anything, and we all have a good time with the event.

Have tridents allowed once a month on a predictable schedule, actually why not require a trident on that day to have a team.

While I agree it makes it very hard on the other teams to win if only one or two teams have tridents. I am hoping to see more players with tridents participate in NW in general and be willing to bring one than to have players who feel like they can't participate because they don't have anyone on their team that wants/can bring a trident.

There aren't any pirates with tridents. So grey team will never have a trident. Would be a little more fair if anyone who wanted to join grey could do as they please.

Not true, there is a famy trident. The person is active but not often on that character.

If ONE has a problem with the rules, how about they host their own nation war for a change? Being a host isn't easy and you get tired of it very quickly. Everyone who has hosted knows it gets annoying with all the whinery. Have some respect for the time that LazyDJ invests.

Yarr! I am a part time pirate, atleast! I admit I usually just pull the trigger, but it ain't my fault that everyone looks like they ain't got credits. :P

P.K.K.

This event was a challenge between the Itani and Grey powerhouse groups. I consistently found 1-3 pilots on my 6 not allowing me to strike very often. I would last until almost all the other fighters were gone, eventually giving up hope and letting Grey chase me through the asteroid belt in hopes of sniffing out the Serco that were hiding behind a asteroid the entire fight.
In the end Allessa Prosos was camping quite a bit in Harpo's trident, then lousierDog decided to hop into Harpo's trident and start shooting turrets at pilots after coming back to the sector in a EC-89, so I went ahead and disqualified the remaining Blue team and crowned Grey the winners.

The Prize Pot for this event consisted of 30,500,000 credits thanks to GTE, PPT, and Willow Cr. Bigfoot. This allowed each victor to receive 7,625,000 credits.

Ahh the Rule du Jour is no candyassery in tridents? Can't wait to see what next weeks rules are!

Congrats to Harpo for the win. Too bad you didn't get acknowledged for it with credits.

Harpo was the last one alive against 4 players who were unable to destroy the dent with the weapons at hand. He wasn't killing us, and we weren't killing him, so lazy gave it to the players with the most alive. Plus Sieger gave Harpo half of his credits. Itani did a great job, shame on the Serco for refusing to participate because they couldn't bring 5 Tridents to switch ships in.

I had a lot of fun this Nation War, despite Sieger's well timed TU mine taking our chances at winning. I also arrived late and forgot to boot into Windows once again so I couldn't record it myself. Maybe next time.

Having equal numbers of tridents on each team is the way to go in my opinion. Anything else is, while probably still fun, unbalanced and always has the potential of useless and time wasting name-calling
and I hope we're all trying to get as many players to participate as possible each time.

Anyway, how about you participate next time Ore?
Feb 09, 2016 Pizzasgood link
Ore, the rules already cover that:

"5.) You may not return to the battle sector after you have left except to observe from a healthy distance in an EC-88 or EC-89."

The rule does not list operating turrets as an exception to the "you may not return" part. The only exception listed is for observing, and operating turrets is not a part of observing. Plus, docking with a Trident necessarily means violating the healthy distance stipulation.
